New DLSS version and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction files discovered in Modern Warfare 4 Beta files

The Modern Warfare 4 Beta launched Early Access for preorders on August 21st, and one eagle-eyed Reddit user discovered what appears to be a new DLSS version, along with the first implementation of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction in any game.
NVIDIA already had DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction slated for release this month, but so far no games have utilized it. That was until now. With the Modern Warfare 4 Pre-Order Beta, gamers can finally assess the improvements that come with this new version. Even more surprising, it came bundled with a new DLSS version. This new build is labeled as version 310.7.128 and is currently being tested across different games by manually replacing the DLL files.
Third-Party tools can already use the new DLSS version
If you’re looking to test out the new files, you might want to use the Profile Inspector or DLSS Swapper to replace your DLL files. That’s because if you replace them through the NVIDIA app, it won’t detect them all and won't show them as an option.
To test out the new DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, you’ll first need to obtain the nvngx_dlssd.dll from version 310.7.128 build files. Make a backup of the original files present in the game you’re going to be testing with, and replace the old file with the new one. Also, make sure DLSS overrides are disabled or set to use application settings in the NVIDIA app.
You’ll also need to change the Ray Reconstruction Preset used after swapping the files for that game. The newer 4.5 model makes use of Preset F, so make sure to choose that option in the game’s profile. In Profile Inspector, you can choose the preset using the “DLSS-RR – Forced Letter Preset” setting and selecting the value 6, which represents Preset F.
So far, the community has reported success using this method on Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Crimson Desert, and Hogwarts Legacy. To check if the new model has been applied, use NVIDIA’s DLSS debug overlay, which comes bundled with DLSSTweaks. It also displays the current active preset, confirming whether the newer model is active.
A much more capable model
When NVIDIA announced DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, they clarified that the new version would use a second-generation transformer model with 20% more parameters and 35% more compute capability, while maintaining performance similar to the previous model and improving temporal stability, lighting accuracy, and details in motion. Community testing shows reduced ghosting, less temporal flickering, and better detailing, with results varying per game and graphics settings. While the DLL is dated June 12, the official version will likely carry a more recent date.
With August drawing to a close, the new DLSS version and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction model will likely be released within the next week. All signs point to Gamescom, where most gaming companies are bound to make some announcements.
