In a brand-new leak, Casio and Japanese fashion label Hender Scheme are reportedly teaming up for a fourth G-Shock collaboration, and this time it’s based on the iconic DW-5900 model. While official product images and confirmation from either brand are still missing, multiple Japanese G-Shock insiders hint that a release is slated for sometime in May.
The DW-5900, nicknamed "The Three-Eye" due to its triple digital display layout, is one of G-Shock’s more old-school designs, originally released in the early '90s. Hender Scheme appears to be sticking to a familiar formula, bringing back the cream-colored beige case seen on past collabs. As before, the key draw is the leather strap, which is made from genuine leather and designed to age and develop patina over time.
This would mark the fourth collab between the two brands, following previous G-Shock x Hender Scheme watches that were also minimalist in approach but received praise for their build quality and subtle fashion-forward tweaks. Despite the lack of official listings or social media announcements from either Casio or Hender Scheme, reports point to an imminent launch.
Their 2017 debut used the DW-5600 with a vegetable-tanned leather strap, marking the first time G-Shock incorporated genuine leather into its build. A 2020 follow-up brought the DW-5750 in soft beige tones, again paired with leather. Most recently, a 2023 DW-6900 model went darker with a black resin case and a bridle leather strap.
It’s also worth noting that past drops in this series were exclusively sold in Japan and often had very limited availability, sometimes selling out within days of launch. There's no indication yet of whether this new DW-5900 edition will be offered internationally or strictly via local retailers and boutiques.
More details are expected in the coming days. For now, fans of leather-accented G-Shock models might want to keep a close eye on Hender Scheme’s online store or G-Shock Japan’s channels for further updates.
