Multiple NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SKUs with 12 GB of VRAM registered ahead of December 7 anticipated release
Earlier this month, @hongxing2020 revealed prospective release dates for the RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB, RTX 3080 12 GB and the RTX 2060 12 GB, a card expected to fill the gap of Ampere availability. Supposedly, the RTX 2060 12 GB will be available from December 7, less than two weeks before NVIDIA reveals the RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB and RTX 3080 12 GB.
Now, @momomo_us has discovered a Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) filing for multiple RTX 2060 12 GB SKUs. So far, Gigabyte has registered the following four models with the EEC:
- GV-N2060D6-12GD - Gigabyte RTX 2060 D6 12G
- GV-N2060OC-12GD - Gigabyte RTX 2060 D6 OC 12G
- GV-N2060WF2-12GD - Gigabyte RTX 2060 WINDFORCE 12G
- GV-N2060WF2OC-12GD - Gigabyte RTX 2060 WINDFORCE OC 12G
NVIDIA is expected to launch the RTX 2060 12 GB with the same volume of CUDA cores, RT cores and Tensor cores as its 6 GB predecessor. However, doubling the VRAM results in a board and GPU change to PG161 and TU106-300, respectively.
It is unclear how much the RTX 2060 12 GB will cost, let alone if NVIDIA plans to release a Founders Edition version of it. If NVIDIA has settled on a December 7 launch date, it should announce the re-refreshed RTX 2060 towards the end of this month.
