Reviews for the Motorola Moto G6 Plus
G as in great. Motorola advertizes the top model of the G6 series as having a brilliant camera and great performance. At a price of 300 Euros (~$355), the Moto G6 Plus has plenty to offer. What exactly that entails will be explained in our detailed review.

A shiny behind, svelte design, modern chipset and an interesting array of specifications mean the Moto E6 Plus makes a great first impression. But with frequent bugs, a passable cameras and a lack of NFC, the picture isn't completely rosy.

The standard G6 really does strike the best balance here. And for $250, it’s hard to complain about the shortcomings it does have. If anything, it’s given me more reason to complain about the flaws on my $649 phone. As the quality gap between high- and low-end smartphones continues to shrink, the price between them seems to be growing bigger. For people who usually buy top-of-the-line phones, that’s bad news. But if you’re shopping under $300, Motorola makes it feel like there’s very little you’re missing out on.

With a big, bright display, quality build and strong performance, the Moto G6 Plus blurs the line between budget and mid-range smartphone. Whether it represents a sufficient leap forward from the brilliant Moto G6 is another matter, however.

For £40 more than the standard G6, the G6 Plus poses a pretty tempting value proposition. Of course, you get a slightly larger display, but there’s also double the storage as standard, marginally improved everyday performance and a bigger battery.

It's not perfect by any means - we noticed occasional sluggish performance in some apps, while the camera was a touch slow in opening and struggled to deal with shake - but there's a huge amount here to like.

The Moto G6 Plus delivers a lot of handset for a competitive price. More internal storage would be nice, but at least a MicroSD card slot is available for external expansion. Battery life could be better and the fingerprint sensor is in a very awkward location. The camera is really impressive for a handset at this price, and the same can be said of the hardware styling. Fans of Moto handsets should find plenty to like here.

Well, just like the original, it's a lot of phone for a little cash, though the definition of the latter has shifted more than we'd like. In the end, in the never-ending game of compromise, you can't go wrong with the Moto G6 Plus.

But in most markets, you won't have those choices — if the Moto X4 is available, the G6 Plus probably won't be. Same for the standard Moto G6. If Motorola is ranging only the Moto G6 Play and G6 Plus where you live, this really is the budget phone to beat in the $3-400 price range. It offers so much, with so few downsides, and a really great price — the complete package is tough to match. Motorola has this formula locked in, and it shows in the Moto G6 Plus.

Overall, if you're not going to spend two-and-a-half times more on a phone camera solution then the Plus does a solid job in the camera department. Just keep your expectations in check.

The sixth generation of Motorola's G-series leaves positive impressions in more ways than it has negatives. Thoughtful design choices coalesce with stock Android and long battery life for the ultimate in daily usage, and software update convenience.

The Motorola Moto G6 Plus is the big boss of the new G series line-up - and certainly the best of the three models in this range for 2018. The said, we don't think it plays on its "Plus" name quite hard enough: we'd like this phone to be that big bigger, say 6.2-inches, to get a real upsized and uprated experience.

It might look very similar to the regular G6, and only offer a slightly larger screen, but the G6 Plus impresses in other areas.

The Moto G6 Plus seems to be a formidable smartphone for the price. It looks and feels like a phone that costs a lot more, and it comes with an impressive specs list. We’ll need to test the camera a lot more before we pass judgement, but the G6 Plus sits atop what looks like an impressive triple-entry to the Moto G range.

With a larger screen, more powerful internals and extra battery, it seems like the Moto G6 Plus is a no-brainer over the newly launched Moto G6. If you've liked Moto G phones in the past, but want one packed full of impressive specs, you'll like the look and spec of the G6 Plus.

Surprisingly, the Moto G6 Play is no major downgrade as well. Despite a different bill of materials, Motorola managed to preserve the styling mostly intact, in no small part, thanks to a 5.7-inch, Max View display, on the cheap. Plus, the Play manages to bring a treat of its own to the table, namely a large 4,000 mAh battery pack. Also, an on-screen navigation setup, with a fingerprint reader around back - a throwback to Moto G phones of yore.

Model: I think the word “Plus” is not used appropriately most of the time. When I hear “Plus”, I want to get something additional besides the size and the Moto G6 Plus achieves that. It is not just different to the Moto G6 with its size, it also has a more powerful processor, more RAM, a slightly bigger battery and again slightly better camera. Can we say that it is almost better in every aspect?
The screen follows new 18:9 trend, whereas the G6 only has FHD resolution. The Snapdragon 630 can be considered upper mid range, so just like the Moto G6 you can't do too demanding things, but this one got more horsepower. The cameras of the G6 Plus has a wider aperture lens, but that’s it.
I think 5.7 vs 5.9 inch is not a big deal, in terms of size. But that 0.2 inch difference means a lot more in performance. The price difference? About 100$. So, it is not an easy decision to make. Is it worth the 100$? Again, maybe. I am saying maybe, because this segment is where the competition is. Remember this, even Apple is considering an iPhone SE2 to increase its sales where price matters, just like India. Since this is the case, there are other models for this price range and give or take, they provide almost the same specs. At least the G6 models come with stock Android, but then you can have Xiaomi’s Mi A1.
When it comes to making decisions like this, I think the personal taste matters. Moto G6 Plus definitely is a nice device. But since there are so many other options to take a look at, you have to go and see the device itself, not just from pictures or videos available. How do you feel? How does it feel to hold? Questions like that will help you with your purchasing decision. Other than that, the G6 series are just mid segment devices. They are for budget centric customers. But the G6 Plus comes with some extras for a bit of extra on the price tag.
To buy or not to buy? It is of course a buy. With almost 2-day battery usage, dual sim, stock android, good looks, all packed in this mid range device for a good price. If you are looking for a price/performance device and want to have a screen that follows latest 18:9, go for the G6 Plus. But if you don't care about the extra horsepower and screen is not your concern, maybe take a look at G6 as well.

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.
