Reviews for the Motorola Moto G6 Play

82.9% Motorola Moto G6 Play Smartphone Review | Notebookcheck
Big battery at a good price. Motorola's latest iteration of its G-series includes the mid-range Moto G6 Play smartphone at a price of around $200. With its 13 MP camera and its Snapdragon SoC it seems to be positioned fairly competitively. Let us find out how well it did in our test.

Despite the few minor issues we found with the Moto G6 Play, it definitely won't steer you wrong. It's a dependable phone with a nice feature set. However, in this price range you can (and should!) get hardware that provides hiccup-free performance. So if you shop around a bit, there is more value to be had elsewhere. We hope Lenovo sorts things out with the Moto G6 Play performance, otherwise as things stand right now, it's hard for it to get the recommendation it deserves.

The sixth generation of Motorola's G-series leaves positive impressions in more ways than it has negatives. Thoughtful design choices coalesce with stock Android and long battery life for the ultimate in daily usage, and software update convenience.

The Moto G6 Play is the most basic model in the G6 range but still has plenty going for it, including a long-lasting battery and a decent screen. If you're on a tight budget it's easy to recommend.

At £169, it’s an absolute steal. There are plenty of great phones available for around the £200 mark these days, but few are as easy to recommend as this one.

The likes of Honor and Xiomi have made the budget mobile arena far more competitive, but the Moto G6 Play remains one of most complete phones you can pick up for less than £200. All signs point to the G6 Play being a great budget phone from Motorola. Our full review will be coming soon.

Hands on: Moto G6 Play review
Source: Techradar English
Despite being the cheapest G6 phone, the G6 Play brings a lot to the table, including an impressive design, up-to-date Oreo software and a big battery.

Moto G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play hands-on review

Surprisingly, the Moto G6 Play is no major downgrade as well. Despite a different bill of materials, Motorola managed to preserve the styling mostly intact, in no small part, thanks to a 5.7-inch, Max View display, on the cheap. Plus, the Play manages to bring a treat of its own to the table, namely a large 4,000 mAh battery pack. Also, an on-screen navigation setup, with a fingerprint reader around back - a throwback to Moto G phones of yore.

This display is quite big for a smartphone but frequently used for smartphones.

Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
0.175 kg:

Only few smartphones are more lightweight than this.

Motorola: The original company Motorola Inc was split in 2011. Motorola Mobility got the smartphone range and was taken over by Google in 2012 and by Lenovo in 2014.
