Motorola Edge S tipped to be Moto's next premium device
Lenovo-owned Motorola launched the Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge Plus, with the latter dialing in as the company's flagship device for the year. It appears that Motorola may already have the successor to that phone in the works, with a release suddenly appearing on the horizon.
A new report coming out of China indicates that Motorola is set to launch the Motorola Edge S soon. The leak doesn't give concrete information about the phone, but it provides a decent idea of what to expect. For one, the phone will feature a flagship Snapdragon chipset.
The leak is unclear as to whether that will be the Snapdragon 888 or last year's Snapdragon 865. The former is the logical option but using a last-gen chipset wouldn't be new to Motorola, as the company released the Moto Z3 with a Snapdragon 835 even though flagship phones at the time were already sporting the Snapdragon 845.
The leak also provides some early schematics. The curved display from the Edge and Edge+ make a re-appearance. No surprise, as that's the whole point of "Edge". The hole punch gets relocated to the middle of the display, though, ditto the rear camera module.
