The Moto G line of Android phones is one that may have already shot towards interesting new horizons in 2021. It is rumored to include new SoCs that confer 5G access on a budget, while also extending into the more premium space thanks to another, the Snapdragon 870.
The Motorola Edge S was the first device to launch with this 865 refresh, although it is also only available in China. However, according to some recent leaks, it is destined to be unleashed on international markets soon, albeit as the Moto G100.
The blog TechnikNews purports to confirm this with new renders that show this phone is nearly identical to the Edge S. It has the same 2x2 rear camera set-up, as well as its double-punch-hole display. Then again, the new leak also suggests the Moto G100 might launch with slightly different finishes that might leave it matte, while the Edge S is shiny.
Should this new leak prove accurate, the G100 stands to gain a 64MP main camera on its launch, 6 to 12GB of RAM, a 90Hz refresh rate for that atypical screen, up to 256GB of storage and a price-tag of perhaps €4-500 (~US$477-596). Then again, it still offers no hint as to when this possible flagship-killer might launch, or where exactly.
