Motorola has added a new Blush Gold color to its Razr fold line up hoping to inspire a new round of sales. Unfortunately, while the new color has a more upmarket look about it, the US$1,500 starting price is still hard to swallow.

Motorola is looking to reinvigorate sales of its flagship foldable, the 2019 Razr reboot. The company has added a new Blush Gold color to the mix that certainly looks appealing enough in the photos. The only question is whether it will re-inspire customers who might have been sitting on the fence to splurge the US1,500 asking price for the device.

The new Blush Gold color now sits alongside the regular black colored model and continues with the same mid-range specifications – barring, of course, its cutting-edge P-OLED foldable display technology and innovative hinge mechanism that stops the display from picking up a crease as you will find on Samsung’s Galaxy Flip Z model. While the hinge is undoubtedly clever, not so clever is the fact that it has been shown to be quite noisy in operation -- at least in the initial batches.

It will be interesting to see if Motorola has made any adjustments to this new addition to the Razr line up to fix the noisy hinge issue. That said, it is probably just a cosmetic revision. Another aspect that it has yet to upgrade is the operating system which remains stuck on Android 9. One thing the won’t get upgraded are its mediocre cameras or Snapdragon 710 chipset, at least until we see a version 2.0 of the Razr. It's classic design and deserves a second-chance.
