More images of the Pixel 3 Lite spotted in the wild, specs revealed, confirmed to share camera hardware with the Pixel 3
Google seems to have taken the easy marketing path this year. The Pixel 3 flagships were leaked in full way ahead of their launch event, and the Pixel 3 Lite is doing something similar at the moment. The mid-range Pixel was pictured alongside the smaller Pixel 3 flagship over the weekend but that may not have been enough, as the phone has now been taken on a photo shoot, with a number of well-known devices in tow.
The Pixel 3 Lite, “Sargo”, can be seen sitting alongside devices like the Pixel 3 XL, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone XS, and the significantly smaller iPhone 5s. Of course, all this does is tell us how the Pixel compares in size to some of the more popular devices on the market.
Going by the images, the Pixel 3 Lite seems to be of roughly the same size as the iPhone XR. It’s a bit bigger than both the iPhone X and iPhone XS, but considerably smaller than the Pixel 3 XL.
Revealed details of the Pixel 3 Lite haven’t exactly been exciting. The midranger is said to sport a 5.65-inch FHD+ display. Like the smaller Pixel 3, it has no notch. It could feature 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, the latter of which is a tad baffling, especially since there’s no hardware for a microSD. It could be powered by the new Snapdragon 670, and could get its juice from a puny 2915 mAh battery, which is yet another confusing choice by Google. Thankfully, all sources confirm that it will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Pixel 3 Lite’s biggest draw—much like most Pixel phones, really—is its cameras, as it's said to feature the same camera hardware as the Pixel 3 flagship. Of course, camera performance isn’t limited to just hardware, so it’d be facetious to claim that the mid-range phone delivers the same camera performance as the Pixel 3.
Prices remain unknown but a few sources have claimed that the device could go for as much as US$500. For some perspective, the Asus Zenfone 5Z and OnePlus 6 have RRP's of US$500. We’ll leave you to be the judge on whether the Pixel 3 Lite offers as much value as the aforementioned devices.
