The UM890 Pro mini PC is powered by the capable AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS APU, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads. In raw benchmarks, the powerful APU is roughly equivalent to the Apple M4 and the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H. Although benchmarks only paint half the story, our review of the mini PC clearly indicates that the system is powerful enough for almost any common workload.
Although there is no dedicated GPU, the Radeon 780M iGPU should be mostly sufficient for casual workloads such as lightweight gaming and 1080p video editing. There is an OCuLink port, which is great for fast eGPU connections. However, as pointed by our in-depth review of the UM890 Pro, OCuLink is made possible via one of the two M.2 slots with the help of a free adapter, so customers will have to ensure only one M.2 slot is populated. All said, the Minisforum UM890 Pro is a very capable mini PC that is more than likely to satiate the requirements of almost any potential customer. Considering the currently discounted price of the product, the UM890 Pro sure does offer even better value for money.
