Microsoft Surface Book 3 and Surface Go 2 key specifications and price estimates revealed
Both the Microsoft Surface Book 3 and Surface Go 2 have arguably been spotted on synthetic benchmarks lately, and now we have some alleged specifications for the two devices thanks to Petri and Thurrott. According to the relevant report, the 2-in-1 computers will maintain a similar design language to their predecessors while having their main components updated.
The Microsoft Surface Book 2 came with up to an i7-8650U, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, and 16 GB RAM. It seems these key specifications will all be refreshed, with the Surface Book 3 offering a 10th Gen Intel processor (possibly up to a Core i7-1068G7), Nvidia GeForce GTX 16 series GPU, and up to 32 GB RAM.
Further information about the Surface Book 3 suggests that it could even be offered with a powerful workstation GPU in the form of one of Nvidia’s Quadro products, and a 1 TB SSD has also been speculated on for the top-end 15-inch Surface Book 3. An estimated price of around US$1,400 for the entry-level 13.5-inch Surface Book 3 has been mentioned.
As for the Microsoft Surface Go 2, this is expected to come with either a Pentium Gold chip or a processor from the Core M range (possibly the Intel Core m3-8100Y). This means that Microsoft would not be opting for a solution from Qualcomm for this particular update. Price-wise, an entry-level Surface Go 2 could start from US$399. An announcement in regard to both of the refreshed devices is expected to take place in New York in spring, where the Surface Earbuds may even turn up.
