Leaked assets of an earlier build of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra have made their way to the internet that showcase development progress across multiple characters, including Black Panther.

New development footage of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has leaked online, giving players an early sneak peek at the game’s mechanics nearly four years after the project’s official announcement.

MP1st reported the leak, originating from a developer who worked on the title between 2022 and 2023. The title, which sees Amy Hennig of the Uncharted series and Legacy of Kain spearheading the project, is currently prepping for an early 2026 release window, a delay from its original 2025 announcement.

The leaked assets should be taken with a bucket of salt, given their dated nature, as many revisions and replacements could have occurred during the game’s production. The leak shows Black Panther as he ventures into the underbelly of Nazi-occupied Paris, one of the two confirmed settings alongside Wakanda.

One thing that stands out is the fact that Captain America is missing from the footage, suggesting that this leak could have been a Black Panther prototype in the works before it became Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. However, one thing to note here is that Black Panther is also capable of traveling large distances to close in on enemies in what appears to be a bar or lounge.

The camera angle is positioned unconventionally, and Black Panther’s moveset does appear to be janky in the leaked footage, but given the age of the developmental footage and the fact that it is a work in progress, such issues are to be expected.

Skydance is yet to comment on the leaks. However, this leak arrives days before a rumored PlayStation State of Play showcase scheduled for September 25, 2025, which could very well give us an up-to-date look at gameplay.

We have not seen much of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra in terms of official gameplay, but we do know that four of the game’s heroes will each be playable at different points in the story, giving the spotlight not only to Captain America and Black Panther, but also to Gabriel Jones and Nanali.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is expected to drop sometime in 2026 after numerous delays on the PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC, and will supposedly be priced at $69.99 for the base edition of the game.
