Model: The MSI MSI GT72-2QD8H21BW or Dominator is aimed at the hardcore gaming audience. With its high gaming performance provided by its 5 th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and up to 32 GB of RAM (4 RAM slots), it can run almost, if not, all the current games in the market. With the classic MSI gaming laptop design and its 17.3 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it will definitely allow the user to be fully immersed in the game. The anti-glare LCD with LED backlight is driven by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX970M that holds with up to 3GB of GDDR5 VRAM.
The laptop also comes with a 1 TB HDD and a stunning SteelSeries keyboard with fully customizable color backlight. Its audio is also amazing as it runs on the Dynaudio 2.1 channel with 1 woofer and supports 7.1 channel SPDIF output with Nahimic sound technology and an exclusive Audio Boost2 technology. Its Full HD webcam captures up to 30 fps @1080p and the laptop houses DVD drive. Additionally, the laptop comes with a standard MSI Killer DoubleShot Pro Gigabit LAN and Pro 11ac WiFi card for connectivity as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Finally, it also has an HDMI port, a standard 3.5 mm audio jack, and optionally either six USB 3.0 ports or four USB 3.0 and two USB 3.1 ports.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M:
Second fastest high-end graphics card based on the Maxwell GM204 chip from the GeForce GTX 900M series.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
5700HQ: Broadwell-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 5600 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
3.8 kg:
Only a few laptops are in this weight class because the mobility is rather limited due to the high weight.
