Model: The MSI GL72-6QFi781FD is gaming laptop designed and catered towards gamers and multimedia enthusiasts. It is also suitable for users who are looking for a high-performance laptop. The gaming laptop is completely covered in black color and has the typical red colored MSI logo on the lid. Unlike gaming laptops from other brands, the MSI gaming laptop looks quite uniform and business-like from the first impression. It comes pre-installed with Microsoft Windows 10 Home Edition operating system, has a 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, which can be turbo boosted up to 3.5 GHz, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M 2GB DDR5 graphic card, 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 1 TB hard disk for its internal storage capacity. The gaming laptop sports a 17.3-inch TN display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the size of the screen is suitable for gaming. Thanks to its matte finish, it is less glaring and reflective. The TN panel was chosen because it has lower manufacturing costs, but the downside of it is that it only has limited viewing angles and average colors. MSI claimed that the keyboard is carefully calculated and designed for the needs of professional gamers. The laptop is exclusively made by Steelseries and it offers optimum WASD zone, better responsive and tactile feedback and the support of multi-key inputs in order for gamers to gain full control over their games. However, the keyboard lacks a backlight.

The sound for the gaming laptop is boosted by the Nahimic Audio Enhancer, a high definition sound technology that boosts the audio and voice of the gaming laptop and it is able to produce a virtual 7.1 surround sound. In addition, MSI also includes the MSI Audio Boost to enhance the output sound stage and sound detail by 30%. It has a gold flash jack that offers stable sound transmission, low noise, low distortions characteristics, enhanced headphone performance and reproduces each acoustic detail faithfully. The communication options of the gaming laptop include Wi-Fi 802.11a /b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth version 4.0. In order to control the temperature of the gaming laptop, MSI has included another exclusive technology known as MSI SHIFT, a technology that pushes the performance of the gaming laptop to the extreme while minimizing the temperature and noise at the same time. There are 3 different options to switch between which are Sports, Comfort and Green in order to get the perfect balance between decent system performance and comfortable user experience. On top of that, the exclusive Cooler Boost 3 technology also helps to actively and effectively cool down the gaming laptop. The innovative Matrix Display technology by MSI allows users to connect up to 2 external screens simultaneously in order to create a better gaming experience. The Matrix Display also supports 4K output that is capable of displaying up to 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution. Overall, the gaming laptop is reasonably priced for gamers and it does not compromise on its hardware specifications.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter.
