Two new limited edition Casio G-Shock collaboration watches have appeared in Hong Kong. These DW-5600X watches celebrate the release of the 2025 film Back to the Past. This sci-fi movie is a follow-up to the TV series A Step Into the Past, released in 2001.
The Casio G-Shock x Back to the Past watches have predominantly black designs, inspired by two of the movie's characters. The Xiang Shaolong Edition DW-5600X has bronze colored details on the strap, with a fine brushstroke pattern. The King of Qin Edition DW-5600X has a combination of metallic red and silver accents, with a geometric border. Both have resin casing and straps, with a central dark background digital display.
Casio's G-Shock DW-5600 model is shock resistant, with 200 m water resistance and five year battery life estimate. Users can access tools like a countdown timer and a 1/100th second stopwatch. The digital watch also offers flash alerts, hourly time signals and a multi-function alarm. The display can show the time in 12 or 24 hour formats, and the Super Illuminator LED backlight makes it easier to read in darker environments.
These watches were revealed in a recent post on social media from production company One Cool Film. This confirmed that there were only 180 units of the watches available, and stated that fans "won't find these on the high street" (machine translated via DeepL). Instead, fans in Hong Kong can enter a competition, detailed on Facebook, to win one of these watches.
