Lenovo unveils the Ideapad 100S and Chromebook 100S
The Ideapad 100S and Chromebook 100S are coming this October and will aim for the entry-level market.

First, the Ideapad 100S will come in two screen sizes: 11.6-inch and 14-inch. Both will have similar features such as the 768p display resolution, RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, Windows 10 OS, and 8-hour battery life. Their main differences include the quad-core Atom Z3735F CPU, 32 GB eMMC, and 802.11n on the smaller model compared to the Celeron N3050 CPU, 64 GB eMMC, additional ports, and 802.11ac on the larger model. The 11.6-inch and 14-inch configurations will start at $190 USD and $260 USD, respectively.

Next is the 11.6-inch Chromebook 100S with its Pentium N2840 processor and just 16 GB of internal storage space. Despite the size, it has more in common with the larger 14-inch Ideapad S100S due to its 802.11ac compatibility, USB 3.0, and HDMI port. The Chromebook will launch for just $180 USD with no current release plans outside of North America.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s. When I'm not managing day-to-day activities and US review articles on Notebookcheck, you can catch me following the eSports scene and the latest gaming news.
