IFA 2014 | Lenovo reveals Tab S8 and Y70 Touch ahead of IDF 2014
We're less than a week away from the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco and at least one manufacturer is already revealing part of their lineups at IFA this week.
Lenovo today officially announced the Tab S8 tablet and Y70 Touch gaming notebook to be available this September and October, respectively. The Tab S8 is the manufacturer's first 8-inch Android tablet sporting an Intel qoad-core Atom SoC, more specifically the 1.83 GHz Atom Z3745. LTE connectivity is built-in as well, which is uncommon on a budget Android tablet. Based on the size and specifications, the Tab S8 should succeed the Tab A8 released earlier this year with a thinner chassis to boot (7.85 mm vs. 8.95 mm).
Meanwhile, the Y70 Touch joins the recently released Y40 and Y50 family of gaming notebooks. The Y Series has proven extremely popular for the Chinese manufacturer due to their high performance-to-price ratio, sleek looks and JBL audio. The larger Y70 ups the ante with a 17.3-inch display Nvidia GTX 860M graphics, though the press kit fails to detail exact specifications beyond the Full HD display. Whether or not a UHD option will be made available (a la the Y50 UHD) is unknown at this time.
The Lenovo Tab S8 and Y70 Touch will launch within the next couple of months in North America starting at $199 and $1299, respectively. As usual, expect our full reviews to follow soon after availability.
