Lenovo IdeaTab S8-50 Android tablet leaks online

This new tablet has not been officially confirmed yet, but its alleged specs are already online - 8-inch display, Intel Bay Trail processor, 2 GB of memory, 16 GB of internal storage, GPS and more.

Although Lenovo was never a leading company in terms of design, they usually managed to deliver excellent build quality, performance and reliability and now the same thing can be said about their tablets. The IdeaTab family of products has been around for a while and the IdeaTab S8 is the next device apparently ready to join this lineup. After clearing the FCC certification process, the Lenovo IdeaTab S8-50 is now ready to hit the market, although this has not been officially announced yet.

Online shop Merimobiles has already listed the Lenovo IdeaTab S8-50 with 4G LTE as ready for pre-order, also revealing the following specs and features:

  • Processor: quad-core Intel Atom Z3745
  • Memory/Storage: 2 GB RAM; 16 GB of internal storage and microSD support up to 32 GB
  • Display: 8-inch IPS capacitive multitouch with 1,280X720 pixels
  • Cameras: 1.6 MP front, 8 MP back
  • Connectivity: 3G and 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot capability, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, micro USB 2.0,  GPS with A-GPS
  • Operating system: Android 4.4 KitKat

While the pre-order price is listed as $0 USD, the recommended price of the slate is $299.99 USD. It should be available in black and silver soon, but we should get the official confirmation first. It would not be a surprise to see the IdeaTab S8-50 next week at IFA 2014 in Berlin, so stay tuned.
