Deal | Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x laptop scores $600 discount, features beautiful OLED display and 16 GB RAM

There are plenty of people with workflows that are majorly browser-based. Such people, who do not require extensive x86 compatibility, can certainly walk the lesser-treaded path and go for a Snapdragon-powered laptop, such as the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x.

Courtesy of an ongoing sale over at Lenovo's official online store, the Snapdragon X2 Plus-equipped Yoga Slim 7x laptop with a beautiful 14-inch OLED display is now available with a major 43% discount, bringing its price down to just under $846. This specific variant is also equipped with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage.

The Snapdragon X2 Plus SoC performs well enough for most tasks

In terms of raw performance, the Snapdragon X2 Plus 42-100 in the Slim 7x laptop does not disappoint. Despite featuring a 6-core setup, the SoC easily manages to trade blows with the Apple M3 in synthetic multi-core benchmarks. For the majority of users with moderately intensive office-based workflows and entertainment requirements, the X2 Plus should be more than sufficient.

The 14-inch OLED display is undoubtedly gorgeous, with our in-depth review revealing an impressive 100% coverage of the P3 color gamut and 99% coverage of the Adobe RGB gamut. The 1920 x 1200 panel boasts a refresh rate of only 60 Hz, which might be quite disappointing for those who are used to 120 Hz panels on other devices.

Brightness peaks at around 367 nits, and we found the panel's color accuracy to be excellent once calibrated. For content consumption and creative workflows such as photo editing, the Yoga Slim 7x laptop should be a decent choice.

The iGPU performance is decent as well, with the Adreno X2-45 keeping up with a Radeon 880M in synthetic benchmarks. The architectural limitations will obviously limit a lot of games from playing well, or even booting at all, which is something that prospective customers have to settle for.

Our review unit was equipped with a much more powerful variant of the Snapdragon X2 family. In spite of this, the laptop remained almost silent during most casual workloads, and started getting audible only once the laptop was pushed.

• 9.2 MP front camera, webcam shutter (electronic)

The lack of a memory card slot and headphone jack is definitely quite surprising, and in a bad way. That said, we did find the battery life to be simply amazing, lasting over 17 hours in our WiFi web browsing test.

At its current price, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x laptop is a very decent purchase for most people with casual workflows which do not require native x86 support. The laptop offers a good overall package that ticks many crucial boxes.
