Lenovo Vibe Shot review
Source: GSM Arena English Archive.org version
Several years ago the attractive design was just about the only standout feature of a mobile phone for the lack of other notable features. Today, the tables have turned. The features are numerous but the designs have become so plain that a good design, which is rich in character, can easily stick out. As if consumers have almost had their fill of advanced features and they are after that elusive combination of looks and functionality that few phones can deliver.

The Lenovo Vibe Shot is a beautifully crafted smartphone for shutterbugs. The build and finish are great, and you get a vivid display, good battery life and a full-featured camera system. The software, while fluid for the most part, does have a number of glitches which Lenovo needs to fix soon. It would also have been nice if we had some modes for video recording other than the standard one. Finally, the phone is a fingerprint nightmare so keeping it clean is not the easiest thing to do. If you're looking purely at image and video quality then there are older options such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 (Review | Pictures) and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact (Review | Pictures), which still pack a punch and are priced the same or even lower. However, they lack features such as the infrared focus system and OIS. Given its software bugs and limited video capabilities, the Vibe Shot feels a bit expensive at its current price of Rs. 25,000. If Lenovo can fix these things with future software updates and drop the price a little, then it will have a strong chance of disrupting the mid-range segment.

As smartphones get more and more powerful, battery life continues to suffer. Phones today are designed to be solid performers and have good features, but aesthetic requirements mean that many phones neglect the battery. As a result, it's becoming harder for your smartphone to last through even a single day. Phones such as the Lenovo Vibe P1 aim to fix that.

It’s tough to pass an absolute judgement on the Lenovo Vibe P1. The phone is definitely among the best that Lenovo has produced, and it’s not a one-hit wonder like the Vibe Shot. If the battery life is your only concern, the right choice would be to go for the Gionee Marathon M5, but then again, you’d have to pay an extra Rs. 2,000 for it. In addition, the fact that Lenovo’s device has a fingerprint sensor is a big boon for it. So, if you’re wondering whether to buy the Lenovo Vibe P1, then go ahead, it makes a pretty good case for itself. If you have a slightly higher budget, though, the Marathon M5 is a better buy.

Lenovo Vibe P1 review – battery life without competition
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Lenovo Vibe P1 met our high expectations. The battery capacity – 5000mAh – leaves a great impression, especially after the test results. The 5.5-inch display and metal body are components which propel the device forward, compared to other models of the middle class. We can define its bulky body as a disadvantage, but that is the pay-off for the large battery. In addition, VIBE P1 has some other features such as a fingerprint sensor, a physical simple mode switch, making life easier for the battery. It’s great that Snapdragon 615 didn’t lead to high temperatures in this device. Lenovo has done a really good job, filling your UI with a variety of applications and useful features.

Lenovo Vibe S1

The Lenovo S1 is a 5 inch (display) dual nano SIM smartphone, which was launched in November 2015. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa core MediaTek MT 6752 processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It comes with 32 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 128GB. This is really ideal for high-end games. The display, which features a Gorilla Glass 3, disperses reflections in such a way that the images will always appear softer and richer thanks to the impeccable curved glass. The IPS display is bright and has rather good viewing angles. The matte finish plastic cover and the metal frame around its sides give an elegant look. The rear is curved to provide nice ergonomic for a comfortable grip and it weighs a mere 131 grams. The dual front facing camera makes it the world's first dual selfie camera consisting of an 8 MP camera with BSI sensor for crisp image quality and a 2 MP camera. A 13 MP autofocus camera is mounted at the rear which comes with a dual color flash. This device is powered by a 2500 mAh battery with a standby time of 240 hours. Other notable features for this model include a proximity sensor, an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.

Lenovo Vibe S1 is certainly a breath of fresh air in the sub Rs 20,000 price bracket. The design on this phone makes it really stand out from competition. Only OnePlus X offers a comparable design. But the Lenovo Vibe S1 leaves the OnePlus X behind in a lot of departments including camera and battery life performance.

As far as its looks go, the Lenovo Vibe S1 could give phones even twice as expensive a run for their money. The Vibe S1 is sleek, beautiful and built with quality in mind. It also has an excellent screen, good performance and great cameras with a few interesting tricks that will appeal to selfie lovers. However, there are some key shortcomings as well. The capacitive keys are not backlit, the appearance of the UI still lacks finesse, the second SIM slot is hybrid and forces you to choose between dual-SIM connectivity and expandable storage, and the battery life is average at best. Additionally, it also lacks some useful features that could have helped it stand out, such as fast charging and a gyroscopic sensor. Despite this, the Lenovo Vibe S1 is still a capable smartphone that will appeal to camera and selfie lovers, as well as those whose top priority is style.

Lenovo finds itself in a tricky position. Sure the K5 is a decent budget handset, but it's not a brand name people in the UK associate with mobiles. It's likely to be overlooked as people's eyes land on more familiar territory. Motorola and Samsung are safer bets.

It means a removable battery, two SIM compartments and another dedicated microSD slot, all of those underneath a removable metal back cover. A pair of booming stereo speakers is another area where the K5 delivers above its pay grade. The K5 is about as dependable a photographic tool as you could expect for the money - good output when the light is right, less so in dim scenes. Video hasn't been fixed from when we reviewed the K5 Plus and its erratic focusing renders it unusable at times.

You definitely don't get what you don't pay for, which in this case is performance. Of course you can buy a better product if you can spend even just a little more, but clearly Lenovo has identified a target audience and it's nice for everyone to have this option. The Vibe K5 makes sense if you're on a water-tight budget.

Affordable smartphone with metal design
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
All things considered, Lenovo Vibe K5 is a more affordable phone than its Plus version. At first sight you may notice several noteworthy differences but they aren’t that significant. Perhaps most users will not notice the difference in screen resolution – HD in the affordable version, and Full HD in the Plus smartphone. In both cases you have a 5-inch screen and an image that is detailed enough. This combined with an IPS panel can make one more than happy. The same goes for the mobile CPU which is also different but our tests proved that there is no significant variation in performance and exterior temperatures.

The Lenovo K5 isn't really a phone to get excited about, but it's a solid lower-end device that I'm sure will get the job done. I'd recommend saving up a bit more cash and plumping for the Moto G, but that's not taking anything away from the K5. It's more important as a signal of intent from Lenovo which has, until now, had little presence in the UK phone market. Will this lead to a more high-powered device? I'd like to think so.

Thankfully, we took note and returned to Lenovo's booth for some hands-on time with the units. First things first - a quick specs rundown. Both models have a 5-inch display the difference being in the resolution - 720p for the basic one and 1080p for the Plus. Both LCD panels look perfectly adequate, although not exceptional in any way. Sharpness and colors seem good, but glare is perhaps a bit too much for our taste. Still, it might be the show floor lighting and we won't rush to any judgment.

VR Made Even More Affordable
Source: Unbox English Archive.org version
The Lenovo VIBE K5 Plus looked really good on paper, so we were a little surprised at its performance issues. Like the VIBE K5 Note, Lenovo has positioned the VIBE K5 Plus an affordable entry to VR with the capabilities to enhance your multimedia experiences with great audio and a full HD display; in this aspect, it definitely delivers. But before all that, a smartphone should deliver a smooth experience with day-to-day tasks and sadly it falls a little short.

You can’t talk about budget phones without mentioning the Redmi Note 3 and without a doubt, that phone is better than the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus. The former offered a better camera, faster processor and larger display for almost the same price. It’s not that the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is a bad phone, it’s definitely not. It’s just that the phone doesn’t stand up very well against the competition in the sub-10,000 price bracket.

New understanding of the mid-range
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is a device which comfortably fits in the mid-range with features such as a Full HD display, octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor and a 13MP camera, put together in a stylish body with metal back, it is definitely worth our while. As a small disappointment we can point out the battery life, which is not terrible, but could have been a bit better. We were satisfied by its produtivity provided by the mobile chip, and the external temperatures that did not increase extremely, even after a long stress test. Additionally, the Full HD display that offers great image quality is a big plus for this range. A lot of Lenovo’s models come with UI which includes many software features and extras which are not exactly needed. For better or for worse, their place is occupied by a good deal of pre-installed apps this time, the half of which will probably come in handy.

What a 2016 mid-range smartphone should be
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Even though it is based on an already existing model, Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite definitely has it’s niche with this price/features ratio. You will find neither Vibe S1’s stylish glass back, which attracts fingerprints, nor the additional front camera, which offers some interesting effects for selfie fans. However, if these features aren’t that important to you when choosing a smartphone, Vibe S1 Lite may be a better choice. What’s more, the Lite version has a slightly more durable battery, although the results are not absolutely sufficient.

The camera is a bit of a let down, but can take some nice shots in ideal lighting conditions, and that is the only negative in what has been a very positive experience overall. At this price point, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is definitely a phone that I would recommend.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note Review
Source: Tech PP English Archive.org version
Keeping in mind the price point, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note feels premium, and it’s at par with the competition. The all-metal exterior feels great, fingerprint sensor works great, the rear speaker is quite impressive, and performance is top notch. The camera is “ok” for regular users, but they do have better choices for sure, and the same goes for its display.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note Review
Source: Fone Arena English Archive.org version
Overall, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note a good successor to the K4 Note at a starting price of Rs. 11,999. It is available exclusively from Flipkart. Lenovo also offers a 4GB RAM variant for the first time in the ‘K series’ at Rs. 13,499, which is good for the price. It runs on Android Marshmallow out of the box, has a good display, solid build quality and also offers good audio output, but the hybrid dual SIM slot might not be preferred by everyone. Even though the phone has decent camera, low-light shots are below average.

Lenovo VIBE K5 Note Review

The Lenovo VIBE K5 Note is a device that we would recommend to those on a budget but still require a sleek, handsome build. It’s also ready for media consumption as it has commendable display and picture quality that show good colors and details. We weren’t so happy with the sound performance but using dedicated headphones should easily do the trick.

Size is not the only thing that matters
Source: Laptop Mag English Archive.org version
The positive aspects of this smartphone are quite a lot and they surely include the metal design and big Full HD display, which has different useful modes for working at night, outside or with gloves on. As expected, the available Helio P10 ensures high performance, and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is a pleasant surprise and combines quite well with the feature-rich Lenovo UI. The battery can’t be considered as a plus but it did well in our tests, and you can also use the Ultimate Power Saver mode, which can increase battery life if need be.

Better VR Bundle?
Source: Unbox English Archive.org version
Lenovo’s K5 Note is a marked improvement from the previous iteration offered a few months ago. It has a nicer, more premium-looking body, better processor, higher storage and faster performance compared to the K4 Note. The included VR headset and new Bluetooth controller make it easier than ever for people to begin their VR journey, though at Php 11,990, the K5 Note may be priced a bit too high for first time VR users. We suggest that you try one out before dropping cash on one.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is definitely a great improvement over K4 Note in terms of build, design, camera and battery life. But still, the Vibe K5 Note isn’t as powerful as the Redmi Note 3 in terms of processor. Vibe K5 Note is definitely one of the good all round devices where you have little to complain although you do not get the best performance in sub 15k.

Lenovo C2

The C2 is Lenovo’s latest offering on its range of smartphones for the budget-conscious. Also codenamed as the ‘Power’, it is slated to be a device which provides much strength in its performance and speed with a low price tag. The build of the C2 is kept basic and straightforward. It is largely made out of plastic which is not surprising considering its price factor. Its dimensions measure 5.63 x 2.81 x 0.34 in and weighs 139 g. The smartphone is slim and light. It is also easily pocket-able and convenient for one-handed operation. Lenovo ships the C2 in dual SIM mode (Micro-SIM, dual stand-by). It is capable of supporting LTE which makes web browsing on this smartphone a breeze. Its 5.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen features 16M colors and a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It may not be anywhere near Full-HD resolution but images and visuals still appear clear and bright. This smartphone runs on Mediatek MT6735P processor. Although not exactly the fastest processor around, the device will work well and perform rather fast when used for web browsing and other similar applications. 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage for media, OS and application are available. The storage capacity can be expanded by up to 32 GB with a MicroSD card. The integrated 8 MP rear-facing camera comes with autofocus and LED flash. Camera features include geo-tagging, touch focus, and face detection. It is pretty much a very basic camera, enough for the casual user. There is also a 5 MP secondary camera for video calls. The connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and it also comes built-in with an FM radio, something that is often left out in high-end devices. One notable feature of the C2 is its removable lithium ion battery rated at 3500 mAh. The battery life is long lasting and can be rapidly recharged via its microUSB port but if that is not enough, just replace the battery with a spare unit and get from 0% to 100% within seconds. Sound quality on this smartphone is equally good as it is enhanced by Waves MaxxAudio. The color options available are black and white and both looks simple and nice. It comes pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In all, the C2 is a straightforward, basic smartphone which works decently for those who require a smartphone for running simple tasks and web browsing. Its low price factor makes it an appealing entry-level smartphone. Its removable battery makes it a rare breed and will be a perfect choice for people who are always on the move. Affordable battery-giant. The Lenovo C2 is an entry-level smartphone that is supposed to attract low-budget customers with a big and removable battery, an HD display, and dual SIM. Since the screen, camera, and battery life are quite good, this could work. But are there also any shortcomings?

Lenovo Vibe P2

The P2 features a sturdy all-metal body with empty spaces above and below the display. Weighing 177 grams, this phone is slightly heavier than most others in its class, but this is not surprising because of its massive battery. Because of its weight, the P2 is perhaps more suited for two-handed use. Lenovo is also quick to point to the fact that the P2 at 8.3 mm is thinner than the P1, which measured 9.9 mm thick. The right side of the P2 houses the volume rocker and power button, while on the left there is the hybrid SIM tray, which accepts dual Nano-SIMs, and a slider switch that Lenovo calls a "power-saving key", which toggles the Ultimate Power Saver mode. There is a Micro-USB port along with speaker grilles on the bottom, and a 3.5 mm audio jack on top. The P2 has a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, which is protected by 2.5D curved glass. The screen is vibrant with adequate colors and good visibility even under direct sunlight. Text and images appear sharp and the screen size makes the device well suited for media consumption. The physical home button below the display doubles as an integrated fingerprint scanner, which can also be long-pressed to launch Google Now. The P2 is also the first Lenovo phone to ditch its capacitive buttons and replaced them with on-screen navigation keys. For the cameras, the P2 sports a 13 MP primary rear camera with a Sony sensor and dual LED flash, plus a 5 MPsecondary camera on the front. Both cameras are quick when it comes to focusing, and can take decent low-light shots if there are light sources around. The P2 features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which is coupled with either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM. Both versions of the phone have 32 GB of internal storage. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. However, the hybrid SIM slot means that users will have to choose between a second SIM and a microSD card. The P2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Lenovo's Vibe Pure UI, which cuts down a lot of bloatware. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of third-party apps preloaded on the P2, which can be uninstalled if the user wants to do so. Under the hood, the P2 packs a whopping non-removable 5100 mAh battery, which can last over two days on a single charge with moderate use. Fast charging support also makes the P2 a winner. The phone can be charged fully in less than 90 minutes, which is impressive. One of the highlights of the P2 is its Ultimate Power Saver mode, which drastically extends battery life. The mode only allows basic usage such as calls, text messages, and radio, and helps keep the device alive for many more hours. This is particularly useful when travelling. The Vibe P2 ticks all the boxes for a perfect mid range device. Its low asking price is also a plus point. Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

Lenovo P2 review: The best battery life phone around
Source: Tech Advisor English Archive.org version
The Lenovo P2 is really being sold on the strength of its battery, and the great news is that it lives up to the company’s hype, offering you days of usage and a power bank in a pinch. Throw in the premium design and build quality, and you have a phone that delivers tremendous value for money. It may not boast flagship performance, but by the time you hit your third day without charging, you’re not likely to care that much.

With great power comes great responsibility, said Spiderman's uncle once. Indeed, the expectations of the Lenovo P2 are somewhat higher than usual, but thankfully it delivers great performance across the board, and won't fail you whatever the task. For a mid-ranger, the P2 goes above and beyond its purpose and that speaks volumes about its capabilities. If you can live with the bland design, the Lenovo P2 is an excellent smartphone in pretty much every other aspect.

The Lenovo P2’s awesomeness thankfully extends well past the ridiculously good battery life. For just £200 (or £23 per month on contract), you get a well-specced handset that’s great for enjoying media on the move, as well as reassuringly rugged. As a result, it's a definite rival to other value phones like the Moto G4.

When price matters
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Vibe C offers a convenient design thanks to its 5-inch display and slightly curved sides. Additionally, you are presented with a good performance for this range provided by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210. Even when it comes to software, the model performs at more than a reasonable level, offering a UI with useful additional pre-installed apps. Just like almost every budget smartphone, Vibe C has its drawbacks. They are chiefly manifested in its display, as it lacks an IPS panel, although we can perhaps overlook this since the customers that will be using this device will not really need an IPS screen. The battery life is another disadvantage. Of course, it depends on how you are planning to use the device but don’t expect good durability.

Price cutter. Lenovo's K6 5-inch middle-class smartphone sells for less than 200 Euro (~$215), but its robust hardware features put it in a category normally reserved for much pricier competitors.

Lenovo K6 quick review – the K lineup is trendy once again
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Lenovo K6 offers noticeable changes over its predecessor, although they are only a few months apart. Improvements are seen in the design section which is again represented by a metal construction but this time with rounded corners and edges, making it look a tad more elegant. Another pleasant addition is the fingerprint scanner, which has turned into a must have for a mid-range device. Additionally, there’s been a bump in the display resolution – from HD to Full HD, which is not that big of a difference for our eye but again you are provided with higher image detail.

Lenovo K6 is specifically for camera lovers because it has 13MP back camera and 8MP front camera whereas the battery section has 3000 mAh battery moreover the device is equipped with fingerprint authenticator. One thing which Lenovo K6 lacks is bigger RAM instead of 2GB RAM, except this all features are decent and they have worked perfectly. Lenovo K6 can easily fulfill daily requirements in affordable price.

The Lenovo K6 Power is a solid offering from Lenovo and it manages to strike a very good balance between performance and value for money. Our biggest gripe was the camera performance which proved to be quite underwhelming.

Lenovo K6 Note Initial Review: Stiff Competition
Source: Unbox English Archive.org version
We’re still not completely sold with the K6 Note. It’s the most expensive entry in Lenovo’s K series of phones so far, priced at Php 11,999. At that price point it’s facing stiff competition from other mid-ranged devices, devices like the 5.5-inch Zenfone 3 Max and OPPO’s F1s to name a few. To help soften the blow, Lenovo is bundling a pair of nice-looking Bluetooh headphones with every purchase.

Lenovo K6 Note Review: The K6 Power Clone with a Bigger Display?
Source: Tech PP English Archive.org version
The Lenovo K6 Note is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 3GB/ 32 GB version and Rs. 14,999 for the 4 GB/ 64 GB version. As compared to the K6 Power which is priced at Rs 9,999, it comes with a bigger display, additional RAM and ROM (Rs. 14,999 version), an improved primary camera and dual LED flash. But apart from these features, the Lenovo’s K6 Note is more or less a twin of its lesser priced cousin, the K6 Power.

The Lenovo K6 Note is not the best smartphone out there. With devices like the Coolpad Cool 1 available, it makes little sense to buy the K6 Note, even if you need something from the offline market. Most manufacturers are taking note of the offline space now, and while the Coolpad Cool 1 is already a much better device available offline, you could even wait a few months for more options to make it to the market.

Lenovo K6 Note review
Source: GSM Arena English Archive.org version
All things considered, the Lenovo K6 Note won't steer you wrong. If it just so happens to be on the offer sheet over at your carrier of choice, don't hesitate to snatch one up. But then again, if you are on the open market and don't mind investing the extra effort, shopping around could, potentially yield a "feature mix" that may be better suited to your personal needs.

Lenovo K6 Note Review
Source: Fone Arena English Archive.org version
Overall, the Lenovo K6 Note is a decent smartphone with good build quality, decent display and of course the VR support, but the performance is just average. Suppose if you are a strict offline buyer, considering the lack of options, you can go with K6 Note as it is one of the best smartphones in the price range for offline buyers.

Source: Tech2.in.com English Archive.org version
The Lenovo K6 Note with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage starts at Rs 13,999 in the country. The price has not dropped since its launch. But after having used it extensively and seen the performance, I would suggest that you go for Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime as it is both powerful as well as provides a far greater value for money. If you don’t want to go for Xiaomi then you can go for Moto G4 or Moto G4 Plus.

Source: Gadgets Now English Archive.org version
All in all, we found the Lenovo K6 Note to be a great budget device. Other than the slightly weaker processor, the smartphone is capable of doing all daily tasks efficiently. But if you still want more options in the same range, there is the Moto G4 Plus which has been doing really well in this segment. The newly-launched Cool 1 with its dual camera setup at the back is also a great option.

Source: India Today English Archive.org version
But if you are buying offline, go ahead with the K6 Note. If it is in a store, chances are that it will probably be the best phone in that store at its price point of Rs 13,999. Its biggest competition in the offline market is the Yu Yunicorn . The Yunicorn is a better looking phone and also has better screen. But in other aspects, it's a wash between these two. In fact, the Lenovo phone feels somewhat more polished in terms of software and performance. If offline shopping is what you are doing, I recommend the Lenovo K6 Note.

Lenovo is one of the many companies in India that have invested heavily in establishing an online sales presence, and several models in the recent past have been online exclusives. With its new K6 Note however, the company wants to reach customers who like purchasing phones offline. The K6 Note offers a large screen and a basic VR experience through the affordable Ant VR headset, which is a great feature even if it isn't always practical. We like this phone's build quality and display, but we still would have liked a more powerful SoC.

Lenovo Vibe K6 Power

The Lenovo Vibe K6 Power is a well-rounded smartphone. It is formed with metal as its main material. This makes the Vibe K6 a durable device with a fine, polished finish. The dimensions measuring at 141.9 x 70.3 x 8.2 mm and its weight of 140 g make the smartphone an idyllic choice for one-handed operation. It can also be easily slipped into pockets. For its display, it is fitted with a 5.0-inch IPS screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution at 441 ppi pixel density. The lack of Corning Gorilla Glass can be easily remedied with a screen protector but some might find this to be somewhat of a letdown. After all, no screen protector out there can match the Gorilla Glass’s toughness. The narrowness of the display may not appeal certain users; the high pixel density nevertheless makes visuals and images appear clear and crisp. Under its hood, it is powered by the popular Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 processor. This platform enables this smartphone to perform remarkably even when running demanding apps. With 2 GB RAM, multi-tasking on this phone is a breeze. For something with very limited hardware capabilities, the Vibe K6 Power does the performance part quite well. Internal memory on the Vibe K6 ranges between 16 and 32 GB and the storage capacity is expandable to up to 256 GB via a microSD card. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner, which sits beneath the camera. Gestures may be customized for easy access and security. Lenovo ships this device both in single and dual SIM mode. Those who are concerned with its camera will definitely be attracted by its 13 MP rear facing camera, which is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30 fps. Its 8MP front facing camera allows users to indulge in taking good quality selfies. One notable feature of the Lenovo Vibe K6 Power is its impressive sound system as it is enhanced with Dolby Atmos audio. This dispenses the need of carrying about an alternative Bluetooth speaker for blasting tunes with remarkable audio quality. The 4000 mAh non-removalbe lithium ion battery is capable of up to 37.00 hours talktime. If there is one thing Lenovo could consider, it is upgrading the microUSB port to USB type C port for faster charging. The Vibe comes pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Users may have qualms over the compact form factor of this smartphone yet this device will still appeal to those who do not require wider screens. It may lack an extra coat of shield on the display and still retain the conventional microUSB port. Yet these are not deficiencies which will rule out the Lenovo Vibe K6 Power as a highly rated smartphone. Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

The Lenovo K6 Power is a good handset that performs well, camera is average also its running 32 bit OS on a 64 bit hardware. This handset is competing with the Redmi Note 4 and when you compare the Redmi Note 4 with the Lenovo K6 power the Redmi Note 4 wins in all areas (camera quality is average on both handsets but slightly better on Redmi Note 4).

The K6 Power is really for those who still prefer to have a smaller device, and as such, it's only real competition is the Redmi 3S Prime, which it handily beats in nearly every aspect. Source: Tech2.in.com English Archive.org version
The Lenovo K6 Power’s price places it at rather awkwardly in the budget-smartphone lineup. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is available at the same price and offers a Snapdragon 650, which is at least 30 percent faster than the K6 Power. The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime is cheaper and offers the same performance and way better battery life, albeit with a lower-resolution screen.

Good performance, decent battery, reliable build and good camera, those are the reasons to consider the Lenovo K6 Power. It is a really good budget smartphone. Barring the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 16GB, there’s no other phone that surpasses the K6 Power in any way. Given that you get an extra gig of RAM with this one and double the storage, this is a very good smartphone to buy.

Considering that the sub-Rs. 10,000 price segment has some of the most popular handsets, it will be interesting to see how the Lenovo K6 Power fares against its competition. Those looking for alternatives can consider the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, if they like MIUI more than Vibe UI and need a better camera.

Lenovo K6 Power is another phone in the company’s great lineup of K phones. It scores simply because of the UI and battery; the overall performance is not too bad either. Of course, the phone will compete against the Redmi 3S Prime, which is similar in terms of specs, except for the lack of a full HD display.

Source: India Today English Archive.org version
The K6 Power is an unassuming phone. It's not flashy. But it is good enough for most people, especially if you have a budget of Rs 10,000 for your next phone. As noted earlier, get a Redmi if you can find one. But if that is not possible, the K6 Power will get the job done. It is fast enough and has lots of storage, has great battery life and has a camera that, when used with some care, will give you pretty nice results (check image samples). From a phone that costs Rs 10,000, you can't -- and shouldn't -- expect more.

Lenovo B

The Lenovo B is built to give decent performance at a pocket friendly price. The smartphone is suitable for entry-level users. It is measured at 132.5 x 66 x 9.9 mm and weighs at 144 g (0.32 Ibs). Designed with rounded edges and a textured back cover, this device feels great to hold and fits perfectly into a pocket. The beauty of the Lenovo B is that users can change the color of the smartphone whenever desired. Available in matte white and matte black, this smartphone also includes an interchangeable gold battery cover. Its compact design features a 4.5-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, easy for scrolling on the go, and ideal for very light gaming and casual use. It has up to 2-point multi-touch capacitive support and has a pixel density of approximately 207 ppi. As for operating system, the Lenovo B runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Lenovo B features a Mediatek quad-core processor coupled with a Mali-T720MP2 graphic processing unit, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory. The storage can be further expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. The specs are quite reasonable for an entry-level option. The Lenovo B also has dual SIM slots and 4G LTE network which keeps the brand’s sleek and fast performance tag alive. Dual SIM function provides flexibility to separate slots which keeps work and personal contacts in one device. The smartphone is powered by a 2000mAh lithium ion battery, which works for hours before needing another charge. It provides up to 11.3 hours of talk time and 7.3 days active standby on 4G networks, all thanks to its smaller size display with a lower resolution. And when battery life does get low, a user can simply swap the interchangeable battery with a spare battery and keep going. The main 5 MP fixed-focus camera is capable of snapping loads of good quality photos and record videos. The lens is joined by a LED flash, but do not expect anything more than that. The 2 MP front-facing fixed-focus camera sends an invitation to get on board with the selfie revolution. With apps like Skype and Google’s Duo, a user can video-chat with friends all over the world. As for the audio source, it features a speaker on the smartphone and a 3.5 mm jack to plug on a headphone. Lenovo 500 in-ear headphones are included in the Lenovo B package. They feature a metal finishing and a tangle-free noodle cable and can be plugged into the 3.5 mm headphone jack to deliver a rich and deep bass sound. In short, the Lenovo B is exactly what the entry level market needs. A no nonsense device with a low price tag. Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

A Lenovo for first-time smartphone users. The Lenovo B smartphone is already available for less than 100 Euros (~$108). Its fixed-focus camera or TN display may cause disappointment, but at least there is LTE and a replaceable battery. Whether this is enough to top other low-cost smartphones, we'll clarify in the following test.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Play

It has been a while since I last reviewed a Lenovo smartphone and I was actually thinking that they were out of Smartphone market, boy I was wrong. Along with the K5 Play, there is also the K5. The only difference? Their processors. The K5 comes with a Mediatek chip, whereas the K5 Play comes with a Snapdragon chip. Yup, that’s it. End of the show. Now, why you should buy the K5 Play? The answer is simple. Because of its price. Literally. It is only for 109$. Is there anything great about it? Of course not. But there is much good about it. It comes with Android 8.0, a 3000 mAh battery, a somewhat good 13+2 MP main camera. A Snapdragon 430 is at its heart. When you put it all together, I think it makes sense. Lets say you need a temporary device or you are looking for a present? There is your K5 Play. Anything else? That is not a question you should ask my friend. That’s about it. Don't expect much and don't pay much. I think this should be the motto of K5 devices. If I were in a situation, I would totally buy it. That’s for sure. It could be a device for children as well, but they might end up complaining about why they can’t play games and it would be another headache for you. So, no, don’t buy it for your children. But for friends or other relatives who use their phones just for talking, messaging and social media and stuff, K5 Play is just fine. It is not fancy, it is not elegant and if it breaks into pieces, you wouldn't mind it at all. I am trying to find something to tell more about the K5 Play, but at the end of the day, it is just an another Android budget smartphone and that literally sums my overall impression. With budget devices, there is not enough room to fit in an extra features which would make the device stand apart from the competition. Most of the time we only see brand name changing and the rest is almost the same. This is the fact for the real low end devices. At least for the mid-range we can get something like fast charging or better cameras. But for Lenovo Vibe K5 Play, this does not apply. Do I suggest it? Yeah, but again it totally depends on how you use a smartphone. It is okay for day to day regular usage. But for games or some apps that needs horsepower, nope it is not for you. Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
