The Tab One is a steal among affordable tablets. The entry-level tablet was introduced almost quietly and there has been very little coverage of the Lenovo Tab. However, given our test results, the affordable tablet is definitely worth a look.

The Lenovo Tab One is a very affordable Android tablet that impresses with a well-made chassis made of recycled plastic and a modern design. It even surpasses the significantly more expensive Apple iPad Mini in terms of display-to-surface ratio.

For around $100, this entry-level tablet offers attractive features. These include localization, with support for multiple satellite systems such as A-GPS on the 4G option, a 3.5 mm jack, and a microSD slot for inexpensive storage expansion.

What makes the tablet particularly appealing is its compact design. The 8.7-inch IPS display only has 800p resolution, resulting in visible pixels, but it offers a very decent brightness of up to 412 cd/m² in our measurements and is free of PWM flickering, which is a plus for sensitive users.

Unclear update policy

The software is based on Android 15 with a ZUI interface that supports multitasking and productive work with a mouse and keyboard. Lenovo promises up to seven years of updates, although the legal validity of this promise remains unclear.

In sum, Lenovo guarantees software support until March 2027, which is two years from the when the tablet was first released. However, the European Product Database for Energy Labeling (EPREL) lists the Lenovo Tab One with a seven-year warranty, which was also confirmed by Lenovo upon request. However, whether Lenovo will actually uphold its legal obligation to provide updates in the EU beyond March 2027 remains to be seen.

Either way, those wishing to know more about the Lenovo Tab One are advised to read our detailed review.
