While there’s no standout feature to enthusiastically praise, there’s not too much to complain about. The one issue that keeps the Lenovo Flex 5i 13″ 2-in-1 Chromebook’s flex mode at a “helpful” but not “fantastic” level is the speakers. The speakers are located on either side of the keyboard, so when you flip it around to tent or tablet mode, the sound is aimed away from the screen, meaning it’s a little muffled. I noticed this while watching Netflix in bed one night. Even on a higher volume, it seemed quiet, so if you’re going to watch anything, it’s probably best to throw on a pair of headphones to compensate. The loudness of the speakers in flex mode is a minor issue compared to all the positives, but if you’re going to be using it for significant media consumption, it’s something to consider. Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook review 2021

If you’re on a budget and looking for a laptop for checking emails, pushing some light documents, and watching media on, the Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook is a solid option. Though not the brightest, the 13-inch IPS touch display is fairly vivid and clear. The excellent and comfortable backlit keyboard is also a major plus, and when it comes to Chromebooks in general, you should know its limitations going in and be comfortable with them. The Lenovo Flex 5 offers up spunky performance and would be a great laptop for most young students or customers in need of a budget-friendly option. It’s attractive, sturdy, and can handle the basic daily needs of most non-power users.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

i3-10110U: Comet Lake based low power dual-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 2.1 and 4.1 GHz (all 2 cores 3.7 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (4 threads). The integrated memory controller supports up to LPDDR4-2933 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default). The integrated graphics adapter clocks from 300 - 1000 MHz and only offers 23 instead of 24 CUs.
Celeron 5205U: Comet Lake based entry level low power dual-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores clock at 1.9 GHz (no Turbo) without SMT/HyperThreading (2 threads). The integrated memory controller supports LPDDR3-2133/DDR4-2400 (down from DDR4-2666 in the Core i3 and better). The TDP is rated at 15 Watt but can be reduced to 12.5 Watt by the OEM (and the CPU then running at only 800 MHz).
i5-10210U: Comet Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Whiskey Lake and still produced in 14nm++). The CPU cores can clock between 1.6 and 4.2 GHz (all 4 cores 3.9 GHz max.) with HyperThreading (8 threads). The integrated memory controller supports LPDDR4-2933 and using cTDP up/down the performance can be adjusted by the OEM (10 - 25 Watt possible, 15W default). Compared to the faster i5-10510U, the level 3 cache was reduced from 8 to 6 MB.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i5-1135G7: A quad-core, mid-range processor of Tiger Lake product family designed for use in ultra-light laptops. The i5 is manufactured on Intel's second-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin and features an 80 EU Iris Xe G7 iGPU. Core i5-1135G7 has a base clock speed of 2.4 GHz as long as it is allowed to consume 28 watts.
i3-1115G4: Tiger Lake based dual-core processor for thin and light laptops. The two CPU cores are clocked at 3 GHz - 4.1 GHz and the integrated UHD Graphics Xe GPU can run at up to 1.25 GHz.
Pentium 7505: An energy-efficient dual-core processor of the Tiger Lake product family designed for thin and light laptops. The Pentium is produced on the second-gen 10 nm Intel SuperFin process. The two CPU cores run at 2 GHz to 3.5 GHz.
