Leaker details Apple's Holiday 2021 Mac lineup with five more Apple Silicon devices arriving in 2022
Apple is expected to announce new Mac hardware before the end of the year as it continues to transition to in-house processors. So far, the company has released six Apple Silicon-powered devices, including the latest iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.9 as distinct products. The other M1 devices are the iMac 24-inch, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13 and Mac mini, with all but the iMac 24-inch retaining the design of their Intel-powered predecessors.
According to @AppleLe257, Apple only plans to replace one of these M1 devices by this holiday season. The device in question is the Mac mini, which has leaked numerous times already. Supposedly, the mini-PC will arrive with an M1X SoC, along with a flatter redesign than the one that Apple currently sells.
Additionally, @AppleLe257 asserts that the M1X-powered MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 will join the Mac mini, as we have discussed previously. Apple's Holiday 2021 lineup then leaves a redesigned MacBook Air until 2022, with a revamped MacBook Pro 13 set to debut next year, too.
Moreover, @AppleLe257 states that Apple will also release larger iMac Pro hardware, a cheaper Mac mini, a Mac Pro mini and a traditional Mac Pro. Apple only refreshed the Mac Pro with Radeon Pro W6000 GPUs last month, so it will be interesting to see how Apple marries dedicated GPUs with its in-house chips.
