We have reported on numerous leaks in regard to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 lately, which enabled a picture to be painted of Samsung’s foldable phone. A leaker known as TheGalox has kindly filled in a number of the specs gaps, but of course these need to be taken with a pinch of salt until Samsung confirms the Z Flip 3’s specifications officially. Even the name of the next Z Flip smartphone is still debatable: It has been reported that the Z Flip 4G and Z Flip 5G are 1 and 2, respectively, thus the next device in the range would be the Z Flip 3, bringing it in numerical line with the Z Fold3.
Regardless of its actual final name, the next Samsung Galaxy Z Flip foldable phone is practically guaranteed to sport a Snapdragon 888 SoC, and it seems buyers will be able to select between an 8 GB + 256 GB variant and a higher-end 12 GB + 512 GB model. Moving on through TheGalox’s latest reveal, there is another mention of the 6.7-inch, 120 Hz LTPO display and a 10 MP selfie shooter. As reported before, the camera setup will be either 12 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP or 12 MP + 12 MP + 64 MP, but it is now claimed that Samsung will utilize a similar curved housing design for the camera that can be found on the rear of the Galaxy S21 smartphone.
A 25-watt fast-charging capability (wired) for the Z Flip 3 has already been stated by another tipster, but this latest information also includes details about 15 W wireless charging and 4.5 W wireless PowerShare via an additional compatible Qi-enabled device. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 will purportedly come with a more compact hinge than its predecessor(s) that should help prevent the entry of water and dust, meaning IP certification could be on the cards. Lastly, a price of US$1,499 was mentioned, with panel expert Ross Young reckoning Samsung could launch the Z Flip 3 in June or July.
