MSI unveiled the Strix Point-based Stealth A16 AI+ laptop last month as a Copilot+ PC with an RTX 4070 GPU, and up to a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU. The laptop is enjoying what appears to be its first discount at Best Buy.
The $300 price cut at Best Buy has pulled the MSI Stealth A16 AI+ price down from $1,999.99 to only $1,699.99, a discount of $300.
Taking a look at the hardware on offer, the MSI Stealth A16 AI+ on sale features a 10-core Ryzen AI 9 365 APU with a Radeon 880M iGPU, 32 GB of LPDDR5x-7500 memory, a 1 TB SSD, and an RTX 4070 laptop GPU. Display duties are handheld by a 16-inch QHD+ IPS panel that refreshes a fast 240 Hz and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut. Other important specs include a massive 99.9 Wh battery, a per-key RGB keyboard from SteelSeries, and an FHD webcam with a physical shutter.
MSI Stealth A16 AI+ promises plenty of performance
While the MSI Stealth A16 AI+ has a lot going for it, the Strix Point APU and the RTX 4070 laptop GPU are arguably the show's headliners. For instance, although the Ryzen AI 9 365 doesn’t bring revolutionary gains, the 10-core chip will run intensive tasks without a hitch, as it performs similarly to the Core i9-13900H.
Combined with the RTX 4070 laptop GPU, the MSI Stealth A16 AI+ is primed for both content creation and gaming. Games will also play great on the 240 Hz 16-inch IPS display that MSI claims covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut.
Additionally, since the Strix Point APUs enjoy an efficiency advantage over Zen 4 chips, the MSI Stealth A16 AI+ should last for a good while as it has a large 99.99 Wh battery.
In short, the MSI Stealth AI 16 AI+ presents a compelling combination of capable hardware and appears to be a solid buy at the latest price.
