LG confirms a heap of leaked Velvet specs with Stylus Pen and Dual Screen accessories to be sold separately; Quad DAC may not be included
While LG has already confirmed that it will be launching the Velvet on May 7, the South Korean company continues to to tease the device ahead of its release. Now, it has confirmed a load of details that leaked last week. As we reported, LG will launch the Velvet in Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green and Illusion Sunset. Additionally, the device will include a 4,300 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 765G chipset and 5G connectivity.
Rumoured to be coming with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, LG has also confirmed that the Velvet will have a 6.8-inch display. Marketed as a Cinema FullView display, the panel has a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. As has already been reported, the Velvet will have three rear-facing cameras, which LG has confirmed will be a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 5 MP depth sensor. While previous speculation suggested that the 48 MP sensor would support OIS, @Kuma_Sleepy now asserts that this may not be the case. LG does not mention OIS anywhere, for reference. The 48 MP sensor will support 4-in-1 pixel binning, though.
The same Twitter account claims that the Velvet will not have a Quad DAC, either. Keep in mind that this is unconfirmed, but we would have expected LG to reference a DAC of some sort in today's press release if it had included one. Conversely, LG has confirmed that it will be selling the Stylus Pen and Dual Screen accessory separately. Hence, neither will be included with the Velvet by default, although we would not rule out LG bundling them as a limited deal at some stage.
