LG announced its Velvet smartphone last month, with the company releasing the device in four colours. Now, three additional colour options have been released. As the photo below demonstrates, these are Aurora Blue, Aurora Pink and Aurora Red. Unfortunately, these colours are carrier-exclusives. According to GSMArena, the Aurora Pink model can be purchased through LG U+, while the Blue and Red models are available through SK Telecom and KT. It is unclear whether these colours will be part of the international release for the Velvet that LG has planned.
These three new colour options all come with a Snapdragon 765G processor and a 5G modem. However, it would seem that LG has developed a 4G model too, which carries the model number LM-G910. By contrast, the South Korean model carries the model number LM-G900 or LM-G900N. The LG-G910 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, too. This information stems from a Geekbench listing and Toranji, an Iranian website that claims have received a 4G version of the LG Velvet.
GSMArena has confirmed that Anatel, the Brazilian wireless regulator, has certified the LM-G910 too. Hence, the release of the LG-G910 may well extend beyond the Middle East. Toranji claims that the LG Velvet 4G will be around 20% cheaper than its 5G sibling. LG sells the 5G model for KRW 899,800, which equates to around US$735, including sales taxes. Would a price tag of under US$600 make the LG Velvet more appealing to you, even if it came with a two-year-old chipset?
