LG Gram lightweight notebook gets 8th generation Intel Core processors
The LG Gram lineup is an excellent choice for those looking to buy something that is light, thin, and looks about as good as the MacBook Air, but does not run macOS. Now, this ultralight Windows notebook has just become more attractive than before, since three models with 8th generation Intel Core processors surfaced on LG's official website.
The three new models come with the Intel Core i5-8250U and the Intel Core i7-8550U processors, the same duo that can be found inside the recently unveiled Dell Vostro 14 5471 models. Without further ado, these are the three updated LG Gram models and their highlights:
- LG Gram 15Z975-A.AAS5U1: 15.6-inch, Intel Core i5-8250U, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD
- LG Gram 15Z975-A.AAS7U1: 15.6-inch, Intel Core i7-8550U, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD
- LG Gram 13Z975-A.AAS7U1: 13.3-inch, Intel Core i7-8550U, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD
Leaving aside the specs mentioned above, the connectivity features of these three models are the same: Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 ac, 1 x HDMI, 2 x USB 3.0 Type-A, 1 x USB 3.0 Type-C, 3.5 mm audio jack, microSD card slot. The only exception is that the 13.3-inch model does not feature USB 2.0, while its larger siblings pack one such port each. The LG Gram owners who might need Ethernet support can get it, but only via a USB Type-C adapter.
The updated LG Gram models use a magnesium alloy body like their predecessors, a backlit keyboard, and a full HD touchscreen display (even for the 13.3-inch model). However, only the more compact model also features a fingerprint reader.
In this moment, the only model that also has a price displayed on its official product page is the 15Z975-A.AAS7U1, with an MSRP of US$1699.99. The other updated LG Gram models should get a price soon since there is less than a month until the Christmas shopping spree.
