LG G7 ThinQ officially confirmed, just three weeks away
LG has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone will indeed be called the LG G7 ThinQ. It has taken to its social blog channel to convey the news including that it will officially launch in just three weeks time on May 2 at the Metropolitan West in Manhattan. It will be the first G-series phone to carry the ThinQ branding, which is news, because it was though that the company may have abandoned the G-series naming scheme as part of its much publicized mobile division revamp.
Although it was said to have scrapped the initial design for the G7 and started all but from scratch, the device the mysteriously surfaced behind closed doors at MWC carrying the G7 name is now thought to be representative of the final design. If that is indeed the case, we will be looking at yet another Android design in 2018 with a notched display at the top and “chin” at the bottom.
As a ThinQ branded smartphone, you can expect that LG will be hyping its AI feature set. Like its first smartphone to carry the ThinQ branding, the LG V30 ThinQ, its AI features will largely revolve around its photographic capabilities. That said, the Snapdragon 845 at its heart is also capable of using AI processing to enhance voice, VR and gaming experiences, so LG could leverage these capabilities too. All will be revealed soon enough now that we have a concrete launch date.
