With subscription plans that start at $6.99 per month for basic access and only $7.99 for the premium offering, KOCOWA+ is now finally reaching Europe and Oceania. The company's CEO says this is the first streaming service that provides exclusively Korean content to reach Europe and Oceania.

Available since 2017, KOCOWA+ stands for "Korean Content Wave" and is a subsidiary of Wavve Americas. The company is a joint company that brings together Korean broadcasters MBC, KBS, SBS, as well as SK Square Americas and Content Wavve Corp. The streaming services are available via smart TVs, web, and mobile (both Android and iOS). Initially available in North, Central, and South America, it is now finally expanding to Europe and Oceania as well.

Described by the official press release as "the ultimate streaming destination for Korean entertainment," KOCOWA+ is the first streaming platform to bring exclusively Korean content to Europe and Oceania. According to the company's CEO/CPO, KunHee Park, this is also the streaming app with the largest library of Korean content outside of Korea. The list of K-dramas currently available via KOCOWA+ includes shows like "High Kick," "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo," "Su Ji and U Ri," or "My Dearest." Music-focused shows like "Weekly Idol" and "Idol Star Athletics Championships" are also present. Last but not the least, exclusive content such as the dating show "Alumni Lovers" is offered in select territories.

With the inclusion of 39 new markets across Europe and Oceania, KOCOWA+ is now available in no less than 74 countries worldwide. Those interested in Korean entertainment might find Suk-Young Kim's Surviving Squid Game: A Guide to K-Drama, Netflix, and Global Streaming Wars (now 38% off on Amazon in paperback form, so it goes for $17.91 instead of $28.95 for the time being) to be an interesting read.
