Khadas has confirmed pricing for the Edge2, its latest single-board computer (SBC). Powered by the Rockchip RK3588S, the Edge2 is available to pre-order now in Basic and Pro configurations, both as ARM PCs and Maker Kits. However, Khadas does not expect to fulfil ARM PC pre-orders 'on or before' December 20. As we discussed in an earlier article, the Rockchip RK3588S features quad ARM Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores, along with a Mali-G610 MP4 GPU and an NPU that delivers 6 TOPS of performance.
In a blog post, Khadas explains that the Edge2 starts at US$199.99 if you opt for the Edge2 Basic Maker Kit. Alternatively, the Edge2 Basic is orderable as an ARM PC for US$229.99. Conversely, the Edge2 Pro costs US$299.99 and US$329.99 in its Maker Kit and ARM PC guises, respectively. Please note that these are early bird prices, which are valid from today until October 31. For reference, retail prices for the four models are as follows:
- Edge2 Basic (Maker Kit) - US$239.99
- Edge2 Pro (Maker Kit) - US$339.99
- Edge2 Basic (ARM PC) - US$269.99
- Edge2 Pro (ARM PC) - US$369.99
Purportedly, Maker Kits will ship within two days of order confirmation. As far as we can tell, the ARM PC kit comes with a case, as well as a heatsink and a fan. By contrast, Maker Kits ship with the PCBA board and two antennas but no fan or heatsink. You can find Khadas Edge2 performance details on the company's blog post.
