If you’re in the mood for a strategy game without the hassle of hours of micromanagement, Warpips might be just what you’re looking for. It’s a tug-of-war strategy title where both sides automatically deploy units that clash in the middle of the battlefield. Your task is to outmaneuver the enemy with clever unit selection and well-timed deployments, bringing down their base before they can destroy yours.
In Warpips, you assemble a small army of infantry, vehicles and air units, making real-time decisions on when to deploy each one. German gaming outlet NplusX reviewed the title and praised its accessibility and fast-paced matches, noting that it’s well suited for short sessions. A typical round lasts just 10 to 20 minutes.
The game’s variety of units and gadgets was also praised, though NplusX pointed out that Warpips can start to feel repetitive over time. The campaign lasts only 6 to 8 hours and, according to the reviewers, offers limited replay value. Even so, it earned a solid 7 out of 10. On Steam, Warpips has around 4,600 user reviews, with 87% rating it positive. On Metacritic, players gave it a user score of 7.2, though there are no critic reviews yet. The game is rated as “Playable” on the Steam Deck (available on Amazon for $484).
