The Steam TPS Fest is now live, and throughout the event, users can score many top-rated third-person shooters for a discounted price. Besides offering discounts on these games, this fest has also introduced new demos and the free download for the game Last Flag seems to be worth giving a try.
Described as a fun-first 5v5 third-person team shooter, Last Flag promises to offer a reimagined capture the flag (CTF) experience. It puts players in a funky 1970s-inspired world, where they play as contestants for a game show. The core gameplay is about finding and capturing the enemy's flag.
When the matches start, each team gets a 60-second hide phase, in which the team needs to hide their flag somewhere in their designated half of the map. While this currently free game demo on Steam has traditional capture the flag mechanics, there's a blend of strategic elements.
For example, players can control radar towers on the map, which can help to locate the enemy's flag. Last Flag also keeps the action dynamic and continuous with a strategic redeployment system, allowing players who get eliminated to get back to the match after being transported to a backstage "green room."
Another notable highlight of this currently free game demo on Steam is its original soundtrack, which is reminiscent of the 1970s. The game's visuals are also vibrant and colorful. Last Flag's demo will be available until September 1, 2025, and the title itself is set to launch in 2026. Check out the videos below to learn more about this "fun-first" capture the flag game.
