Intel launched the Core Ultra 200S series of desktop processors in October last year to a lukewarm welcome. The CPUs delivered underwhelming performance numbers especially in gaming, but Intel has since worked towards pushing a bit more performance out of them through BIOS updates and OC profiles that do not affect warranty. Now, the company has slashed the prices for two of its Core Ultra 200S SKUs, making them a much better value option.
Intel made the announcement on its blog stating that the Core Ultra 7 265K that was previously priced at $399 will now be available for $299. Secondly, the Core Ultra 7 265KF that was pried at $384 will now be listed at $284. This is a significant price cut for the two SKUs but it is unclear if Intel plans on adding more SKUs in the Core Ultra 200 series to this list later down the line.
The Core Ultra 7 265K has a total of 20 cores, of which eight are Performance cores and 12 are Efficient cores. The CPU can boost up to 5.5 GHz out of the box and has a base clock speed of 3.3 GHz. It comes with 36 MB of L2 cache and a max turbo power of 250W. Of course, it supports the latest Intel technologies including Deep Learning Boost, Turbo Boost Max 3.0, Speed Shift, and more. There is an integrated GPU as well with four Xe cores.
The integrated GPU is the only different between the Core Ultra 7 265K and the Core Ultra 7 265KF with the KF model lacking one, hence the slightly cheaper price point.
These new prices are also applicable with the Spring Bundle sale that brings Dying Light: The Beast and Sid Meier's Civilization VII bundled with an eligible CPU purchase.
