Amazon US is currently running the Core i7-12700K at a healthy 22% discount, seemingly the lowest price that the processor has reached to date. To recap, the Core i7-12700K is a member of the Alder Lake-S series. As such, the processor relies on a 10 nm manufacturing process and has a 125 W TDP (PL1). Additionally, the Core i7-12700K has 12 cores split between 8 P cores and 4 E cores, as well as a UHD Graphics 770 iGPU.
Moreover, the Core i7-12700K has 12 MB L2 cache, 25 MB L3 cache and requires the LGA 1700 socket. According to our database, the Core i7-12700K easily outperforms the Ryzen 7 5800X. However, it can consume up to 190 W in the process. The Core i7-12700K only trails the Ryzen 7 7700X by a few percent too, although the newer Core i7-13700K may be a better option for those who want bleeding-edge performance from a Core i7 part.
