The indie studio Esoteric Games is giving away the game Typers Combat in the Epic Games Store from now until April 29. The title usually costs $5.99. This is a promotional campaign, as the indie title hardly received any attention when it was released on March 6, 2026. However, the game can still be worthwhile as a free download.

Typers Combat not only helps you to practise typing as quickly and accurately as possible on a keyboard, but also allows you to put your ten-finger typing skills to the test against friends or other players on the internet. The gameplay is very simple - players type the names of various attacks that are displayed on the screen. The faster and more accurate the typing, the greater the damage caused. If you type for a particularly long time without making a mistake, you can unlock even higher damage with combo attacks.

The game has only five reviews on Steam, all of which are positive. Typers Combat also offers a single-player campaign and numerous modes to pursue different goals. In Survival mode, players face an endless wave of enemies. In Accuracy mode, the first typo means "game over". In Time Attack mode, victory depends on how many attacks can be typed in 60, 90 or 120 seconds. If you're not yet so experienced with the keyboard, you can practice in training mode to improve your typing skills. One advantage of the simple graphics is the extremely low system requirements; Typers Combat even runs smoothly on an Acer Aspire Go ($343 on Amazon).
