IKEA SYMFONISK Floor lamp with Wi-Fi speaker designed with Sonos launches
The IKEA SYMFONISK Floor lamp with Wi-Fi speaker has arrived in the US. The smart speaker, designed in collaboration with Sonos, provides a 180-degree audio experience. Ikea suggests that the device is space-saving and provides a way to conceal technology in your home.
You can pair two of the SYMFONISK floor lamps, or any other Wi-Fi speaker in the range, to create stereo sound. You can also link multiple devices, including other Sonos products, to stream the same music in different rooms. The Wi-Fi connection allows interruption-free streaming, allowing you to move your connected phone or tablet around the house and receive phone calls. Plus, the device supports Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect. You can control the speaker via the Sonos S2 app, and the company has promised software updates for the gadget.
The product has a black speaker mounted on top of a black frame with a bamboo rattan shade. The speaker lamp measures 15 x 15 x 54-in (~381 x 381 x 1,372 mm) and comes with a 138-in (~351 cm) cord. You can currently buy the IKEA SYMFONISK Floor lamp with Wi-Fi speaker in the US for US$259.99. This is the latest product in the SYMFONISK range; earlier this month, IKEA launched the SYMFONISK / FREKVENS smart speaker with lights. Two models are available with a spotlight or matrix LED cube, and you can sync the lighting pattern to your music.
