Humane AI Pin gets a permanent price cut but it comes at a cost
Humane began selling the Ai Pin earlier this year as an AI wearable device that owners could practically use as an alternative to a phone. When it was announced, it was revealed it would sell for $699 which many agreed was quite expensive, Now, Humane has slashed the price of the AI Pin by a huge margin, but the lower price tag comes with some trade-offs.

The Humane Ai Pin will now sell for $499 according to a post made on X by the manufacturer. For that price, buyers can only get the device in one color — Ellipse — which has a super matte black finish. There's no option to buy it in Lunar and Equinox at this lower price .
Not only is the Ai Pin limited to one color, it also comes with fewer accessories in the box. While it still comes with a charge pad, USB-C cable, adapter, and battery booster, it no longer comes with an extra battery booster and a charge case. Humane allows buyers to purchase an extra booster for $69. There's also a complete system that includes an extra booster and charge case for $799 but it is currently sold out.
Although, Humane now offers the Ai Pin for a lower price, the subscription plan called the Humane Plan needed for the device to work still costs $24 per month. However, buyers do get a free month when they activate their device.
Whether the lower price tag will result in more sales remains to be seen. The post on X also says that the Ai Pin comes with version 1.2 of its CosmOS operating system. The change log on its website for an update that rolled out earlier this month says users can now set alarms and timers, a feature that wasn't available earlier when it launched. There's also support for TIDAL playlists and a new way to unlock the Ai Pin using a custom sequence of touchpad gestures.
