Huawei will release another new phone with the Kirin 990 5G processor: new leak
Geekbench 5 has added scores for an apparently brand-new phone called the Huawei NEY-AN00 to its database. Its listings exhibit specs such as the Kirin 990 5G SoC, 8GB of RAM and Android 10. However, the OEM already has quite a number of phones with these specs on the market. Therefore, presuming this leak to be credible, it is most likely to be part of the allegedly upcoming Nova 7 series.
On the other hand, the latest rumors associated with these successors to the 6-line phones of 2019 point to the Kirin 820 and 985 processors only. However, theories that this NEY-AN00 is in fact the Pro variant of the newer line-up are now rife. Therefore, these leaks may add up to a phone with these internals as well as quad rear cameras with a 64MP main shooter and the 8MP periscope lens seen in other high-end devices.
Then again, based on a Huawei phone-naming convention it has implemented this year, there is another possibility: the unknown model-number now on Geekbench is in fact the Nova 7 Pro+, or Pro Plus. The existence of the freshly-launched Honor 30 variant of this name lends this idea a little more weight. However, for it to come to fruition, it would require that the Nova line leaves its reputation for greater affordability behind a bit in 2020.
