Huawei unveils Nova 15 Max with 8,500 mAh battery and 4,000 nits OLED

Together with the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro and the MatePad Pro Max Huawei also unveiled the Nova 15 Max today. The mid-range smartphone features a design that has become typical for Huawei with a large, round camera module, which in this case only houses a 50 MP f/1.9 wide-angle camera and a rather pointless 2 MP camera.
The Huawei Nova 15 Max is 7.98 millimetres thick and weighs 232 grams - so the device is quite heavy, which is probably not least due to the particularly large 8,500 mAh battery. The battery should provide 25 hours of GPS navigation and even 48 hours of phone calls. Charging is handled via USB-C with up to 40 watts. The mid-range smartphone offers a 6.84-inch, 120 Hz OLED display with a resolution of 2,756 x 1,272 pixels and a peak HDR brightness of 4,000 nits.
A special feature is the X button, which can be programmed in a similar way to the action button on an Apple iPhone 17 ($800 on Amazon), for example to activate the LED flashlight or call a predefined contact. The smartphone is delivered with EMUI 14.2. As usual, Huawei is not commenting on the built-in processor, but it can be assumed that a HiSilicon Kirin ARM chip will be used.
Prices and availability
Huawei has already confirmed that the Nova 15 Max will be launched internationally, but further details on pricing and availability are not yet known. Further details on the Huawei Nova 15 Max can be found on the official product page.
