Nearly four months have passed since Huawei introduced the Mate Xs 2, a foldable that the company launched as a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 competitor. Subsequently, Huawei announced availability in the Eurozone, where the device sells for €1,999. Now, Huawei has confirmed that the Mate Xs 2 is coming to Europe, although only in its lesser battery configuration. For reference, Huawei sells a Collector's Edition model in China, which has a 4,880 mAh battery, 280 mAh more than the 4,600 mAh capacity powering the regular Mate Xs 2.
Additionally, Huawei will only sell the Mate Xs 2 in the UK with 8 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage and in its white colourway. By contrast, the company offers black and white colour options in the Eurozone, albeit with the same memory configuration. For some reason, both markets miss out on the cheaper 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage option that Huawei sells in China, as well as the flagship 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage option with its greater battery capacity.
The Mate Xs 2 will launch in the UK on August 31, where it will cost £1,699. Huawei states that pre-orders placed on the Huawei Store between August 31 and September 11 will receive a complimentary Watch GT 3 Pro, which debuted in April. Worth £299.99, the pre-order gift will be available in black fluoroelastomer and grey leather finishes, but only as a 46 mm smartwatch. Incidentally, Huawei is running a separate promotion on the Watch GT 3 Pro in the UK, with a free pair of FreeBuds Pro Carbon included with orders, as well as the opportunity to buy its Mini Speaker and Band 4e Active for a combined £11.98, which typically sell for £29.99 each.
