Honor Tablet 8 to launch on July 21 with a slim and eye-catching design reminiscent of the Xiaomi Pad 5
Honor has started teasing a new tablet on Chinese social media, a few days after specifications for the Tablet 8 leaked. While the company has not commented on what specifications the tablet will feature, it has highlighted its design. Funnily enough, Honor's tablet resembles a Xiaomi Pad 5, soon to be replaced by the Xiaomi Pad 6 series.
As the image above shows, the Honor Tablet 8 has relatively thin display bezels. However, they do not appear to be uniform and are at their thickest when curving around the tablet's corners. Still, they seem to be about as thick as those on the Xiaomi Pad 5, assuming Honor is underestimating their thickness somewhat from what they actually look like in person. For reference, the Honor Tablet 8 will measure 12-inches across, making it slightly smaller than the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus.
Additionally, Honor's teasers suggest that the Tablet 8 has a metal chassis, which is also exceptionally thin. As far as we can tell, the Honor Tablet 8 only has two physical buttons, including a volume rocker. Moreover, the company has included a small camera housing for what may only be a single rear-facing camera, plus a front-facing camera on the tablet's longer edge. The Honor Tablet will launch in China on July 21 at 19:30 China Standard Time (11:30 UTC). Presumably, Honor will confirm more details before the tablet's announcement, although we doubt it will comment on a global launch for a while yet, if it has any plans to do so.
