After reviewing the HONOR Magic6 Lite, my feelings are mixed. Its predecessor, the Magic5 Lite, was not perfect either, but it was affordable, so the overall assessment was positive. However, by that time, it had been on the market for a while and had become cheaper. The Magic6 Lite is priced at around $360 – what do we get for this money? A powerful battery – yes. A vibrant and beautiful curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate – yes. The processor – overall okay. A slim body and a version with orange eco-leather – yes, cool. Well-optimized interface – probably, but with the old Android 13 and short support. So, here we started talking about the downsides. HONOR Magic6 LiteAnd there are enough downsides – the package is poor, there is no charger or case (competitors offer these for the same price).

Showing outstanding results in autonomy and discharge efficiency, the Honor Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) has positioned itself among the top devices in our database, with a battery performance that came very close to matching the Magic6 series’ Pro model. As its name indicates, the Honor Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) comes with a robust battery that is slightly bigger than the 5600 mAh in the Magic6 Pro, and considerably bigger than an earlier Magic6 Lite (5300 mAh) release. The Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) showed an impressive battery life of more than three days when used moderately. Across various test cases, particularly in video streaming, idle screen-on, and music streaming under both Wi-Fi and 4G conditions, the Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) also demonstrated exceptional autonomy.

Should you get the HONOR Magic6 Lite? Well, that’s a question only you can answer. But… if you have a limited budget, and this phone is in it, it’s worth considering, at the very least. There are a lot of upsides when it comes to the HONOR Magic6 Lite. This smartphone offers great design, and I’m not only talking about how it looks, but how it feels in the hand. It may be large, but it’s not heavy at all, and HONOR did an outstanding job with the shape of the device. There are no sharp edges or anything of the sort, not even close to it. On top of that, the HONOR Magic6 Lite has a great display. This is one of the best displays in this price range, without a doubt. The performance is also really good, and the battery life is great. Charging could be faster, but we do have to keep in mind what’s the price tag here. This phone’s weakest point is in the camera department.

The Honor Magic 6 Lite offers a lot for its asking price, and the fact that it looks the part sweetens the deal further. You get more RAM and storage than most brands offer at this price point, a lovely display with high-frequency PWM dimming, a mammoth battery and a solid primary camera. It’s not perfect, though. The poor video performance and lacklustre auxiliary cameras are disappointing, and the same goes for the outdated operating system and slow charging speeds. Middle-of-the-road graphical performance will be a turn-off for keen gamers, too. If the camera performance is a high priority, you’ll have a better time with the Google Pixel 7a, which can be had for about £30 more at the time of writing. However, you won’t get quite such an impressive display, and you’ll be halving the storage. If display quality and battery life are high priorities, the Honor Magic 6 Lite is hard to beat at this price.

The Honor Magic 6 Lite seems to have all the right specs needed to make a premium smartphone. It has a great design, display, chipset, camera, battery, and everything you could think of. And oh yes, it also has 5G connectivity. A complete premium package in itself. However, it is not a brand-new smartphone. It is a rebrand of the Honor X9b that was released not so long ago. This is not a bad thing. Look at it this way. If Honor Magic 6 Lite fails to launch or you are unable to get it in your region, you can just get the Honor X9b, which is the same. However, what if Honor smartphones are not available in your region at all? Then we have an alternative smartphone for you. The Vivo iQOO Z7 Pro is the one to go for if Honor smartphones are not your thing. It should be similar in terms of pricing while offering equal or better specs in many ways. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.

Reviewing the Honor Magic 6 Lite, including an unboxing, camera test, gaming performance and battery life thoughts after a week of use. I've been testing the budget-friendly Honor Magic 6 Lite as my full-time phone for several days and yes, the software isn't great while the experience can be buggy. However, the battery life is sublime, you can game on Genshin Impact and that screen is a stunner. This smartphone can be yours from Jan 10th for a price of £349 UK. Those specs and the camera haven't massively changed vs the older 5 Lite, but Honor has boosted the battery size and no complaints on longevity. Although the charging speeds are now slower, bizarrely.

The Magic 6 Lite isn’t an awful lot different from last year’s Magic 5 Lite – but seeing how that was quite the bargain, I don’t think that’s a bad thing in the slightest. Honor has refined what was already a rather sharp looking smartphone into something that could easily be mistaken for a much more expensive device. Battery life is exceptional for the cash, and that lead camera is impressively detailed. However, not changing things up also means a few returning issues. I still don’t see the point in adding a macro camera, Honor’s software update commitments are basic, and gaming still isn’t a strong point, even among affordable phones. And are curved edge screens really still the status symbol they once were, now Google and Samsung have ditched them from their flagships? That said, Honor has managed to avoid cost of living increases better than many rivals. The Magic 6 Lite is considerably cheaper than a Google Pixel 7a. That alone could still make it a great choice for anyone on a modest budget.

The Honor Magic6 Lite (5300 mAh) battery placed high in our ranking thanks to its excellent performances in autonomy and efficiency. In terms of efficiency, the Honor Magic6 Lite demonstrated a low discharging current in all our test cases, especially in idle screen off and video streaming 4G. On the other hand, the powerful charger was not contributing in favor of overall charging efficiency. The overall charge-up efficiency was only 71.9%, which ranked in the bottom half of our database. When compared with devices from the same price range ($200 – $399), the Honor Magic6 Lite (5300 mAh) ranked behind its predecessor, the Magic5 Lite. The device had an outstanding showing in autonomy and efficiency.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

In 2014 Huawei created the sub brand Honor and offers certain smartphone series under this name. Occasionally the products are also called Huawei Honor.
The market share of Honor products is manageable, but there are several reviews on Honor smartphones with average ratings (as of 2016).
78.44%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
