The Huawei Honor 7X is finally available in the US. It's predecessor, the Honor 6X, was an immensely successful offering, and the 7X looks set to build on that, as it offers excellent specifications at a nigh-unpassable price point.

The Honor 7X was launched in China a few months ago, with the mid-ranger receiving great reviews across the board. The device has finally been launched worldwide, and will make its way over to the US, a fact that's sure to thrill expectant fans of the company.

Huawei's Honor sub-brand is designed to cater for younger people. It offers a series of brilliantly-designed smartphones, with top of the line features, and at affordable prices. The Honor 7X is set to continue that tradition, and it's almost unbelievable that Huawei can offer a device like this at the specified price tag. The Honor 6X was, alongside the Redmi Note 4, one of the best value for money buys this year, and the 7X builds on that success.

Here's a quick rundown of what to expect from the Honor 7X.

  • 5.93-inch 1080x2160 IPS display.
  • Kirin 659
  • 156.5 mm x 75.3 mm x 7.6 mm (LxWxT), 165g weight
  • Mali T830-MP2 GPU
  • 3340 mAh battery
  • Dual rear cameras (16 MP + 2 MP)
  • 8 MP selfie shooter
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • EMUI 5.1

The Honor 7X comes in three forms, with prices starting from US$199.

  • L21: 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage
  • L22: 4 GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage
  • L24: 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage (US$199)

While we're tempering excitement with caution, the 7X undoubtedly looks like one of the best possible new devices you can get for $200, especially as the new Redmi devices are yet to be launched. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is also a worthy competitor.

Pre-orders start today and continue till December 14. Devices gotten on pre-order will ship with free cases, and the 7th, 77th, 177th, 277th—and so on—orders will receive free refunds of the phone's purchase price.

The phone will be sold locally in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Ukraine and Turkey, Russia, United States, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Iran, India, and Malaysia. It will be available in color options of Blue, Black, and Gold.

Here are the connectivity features of the Honor 7X.
