Hamilton revives 1920s watch design with new American Classic Mechanical watches

Hamilton has unveiled three new American Classic Cushion Mechanical watches in the US. These latest watches are inspired by the company’s cushion-shaped timepieces from 1926. The collection comprises a total of three models, namely, the H36129730, the H36149710, and the H36139520.
Interestingly, Hamilton offers two case sizes, 30 x 30 mm and 34 x 34 mm, for the H36149710 and the H36139520 watches. However, the H36129730 is available in a single 34 mm case size. The dial design and case color are two of the key differences between the three models. The former features a black dial and a silver-tone case, while the latter two ship with a beige and white dial paired with a golden and silver-tone engraved case, respectively.
The dial elements remain the same across all three variants. The dial of the American Classic Mechanical lineup is adorned with stylized square numerals and a rail-road-style minute track and a small seconds subdial positioned at 6 o’clock. The watches are paired with leather straps, with black or brown options depending on the model. Powering the collection is Hamilton’s H-42 hand-wound mechanical movement.
The mechanical movement features a Nivachron balance spring and delivers a power reserve of up to 57 hours. All variants measure 8.1 mm (0.31 inches) in thickness and feature sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment, exhibition casebacks, and 50 m (5 bar) water resistance.
The Hamilton American Classic Cushion Mechanical H36129730, the H36149710, and the H36139520 watches are priced at $995 each. Hamilton lists these new mechanical watches as available soon on its US website, although there’s no exact sale date revealed.
