Technically there is only one new monitor here, with the difference for the ‘h’ model being a modified height-adjustable stand. We suspect the ‘i’ model might be cheaper due to the more straightforward stand, making it the more appealing option if you plan to leave the stand in the box and mount to a 100 x 100 VESA adapter.
The x24i uses a 24-inch FullHD IPS panel with a 1 ms response time (using overdrive) and 144 Hz refresh rate. The low latency, fast refresh (above 120 Hz), and low framerate compensation (LFC) gives this display FreeSync Premium certification. The maximum brightness is 350 nits, and colour accuracy is OK for general use at 99% sRGB. Video input is handled by Display Port 1.2 and HDMI 2.0, with a 3.5 mm headphone jack for those using HDMI and keeping their case tucked away under the desk.
HP hadn’t specified availability or pricing at the time of writing. However, based on similar monitors like the Acer Nitro VG240Y or Asus VP249QGR, we would expect the HP x24i Gaming and HP x24ih Gaming to be in the neighbourhood of US$200 – 220.
