HP ProBook x360 11 G4
Students or lecturers from all walks of life and ensuing career paths are bound to rejoice in the light of the recent announcement of the HP ProBook x360 11 G4. This rugged compact-sized convertible is brought forth into existence with a promising educative vision of improving learning outcome, saving on educator’s time, as well as reeling students into a series of productive and engaging activities. The HP ProBook x360 11 G4 is also ideal for professionals in business settings whereby a balanced requirement of innovation and multimedia capabilities would come together as one without having to weigh in on a large-scaled expenditure. First and foremost, it is of utmost importance to note that the HP ProBook x360 11 G4 insists upon introducing itself as the Education Edition notebook catered towards a specific target audience whereby it can peak in performance if correctly assigned to the proper clientele. This entails to the fact that the HP ProBook x360 11 G4 is adequately optimized for easy and efficient management through the integration of the 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8200Y processor. The Intel Core i5-8200Y processor unit in particular enables students and academics alike to operate on multiple installed applications or programs, run simultaneous simulations in order to gather data for research and development, as well as editing multimedia content such as videos all at the same time without being dampened by evident lethargy in the system. The graphics performance provided by the built-in Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU makes creating and editing multimedia content with perfect ease without having to worry about inconsistencies and miscellaneous problems caused by an underperforming laptop. With a solid foundation on performance laid down by impressive quad-core units, the HP ProBook x360 11 G4 further capitalizes on its growing strength through the convertible design of its physique itself. For instance, a flexible 360-degree rotatable angle hinge functions as a practical mechanism which enables the HP ProBook x360 11 G4 to be flipped or folded into a notebook or a pad device. The 360-degree hinge mechanism can simulate various positions in the forms of a stand or tent in accordance to the user’s comfort and liking. Aside from that, with 11.6-inch screen size, it is only prudent to include the usage of an optional stylus aptly called the Active Pen, which promotes screen inputs as a part of the whole educative process. This effectively empowers the learning process and cuts down on the time requirement since the Active Pen can be used to circle important points or cross out irrelevance on the screen at first hand without being slowed down by the fuss of editing a particular mishap via keyboard inputs. The robust ProBook convertible offers a fast SSD, silent operation and good battery life. The touchscreen can be used with the fingers as well as with a stylus. With a price of about 900 Euros (~$989), the device isn't among the cheap models.

If the Ryzen 4000 series is already found in regular business laptops, why not in convertibles too? HP probably thought of that when they developed the ProBook x360 435 G7. The result: A convertible laptop that is faster than the competition and that easily outperforms even much more expensive HP EliteBooks.

We're excited to get the HP ProBook x360 435 G7 through our lab to see how it performs on our tests. However, we are a little concerned about how much it's going to cost exactly, especially if it's meant for smaller businesses. Stay tuned for the full review and benchmarks when the ProBook x360 launches later this year.

The HP Probook x360 435 G7 does the basics with style, offers good performance and battery life, and comes with integrated privacy features. It is, however, all work and no play - you won't be doing much else on this.

HP equips the eighth generation of its business convertible with fast Ryzen 5000 CPUs from AMD, which offer significantly more performance than the Intel competition. However, the problem is still the extremely reflective touchscreen, which can also make life difficult indoors.

Despite the fact that while users are not accustomed to seeing AMD processors in commercial notebooks, the “reds” are doing everything possible to win over the audience. The company creates powerful and energy efficient processors that will keep laptop batteries running all day. This is confirmed not only by the HP ProBook x360 435 G8 laptop we have chosen, but also by similar models from other manufacturers like Lenovo, Acer and other HP models.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
Intel UHD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2, 24 EUs) found on some Kaby-Lake-Refresh CPU models (15 W ULV series). Technically identical to the previous Kaby-Lake GPU called HD Graphics 620.
AMD Vega 6: Integrated graphics adapter of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 6 CUs (= 384 shaders) and a clock of up to 1,500 MHz.
AMD Vega 7: Integrated graphics adapter of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 7 CUs (= 448 shaders) and a clock speed of up to 1,600 MHz.
AMD Vega 5: Integrated graphics card of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 5 CUs (= 320 shaders) and a clock of up to 1400 MHz.
AMD Vega 8: Integrated graphics card of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 8 CUs (= 512 shaders) and a clock of up to 2.100 MHz.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
Intel UHD Graphics 615: Integrated graphics card in some Amber Lake Y-series processors (5 Watt TDP) with 24 EUs (GT2) and no dedicated graphics memory. Clocks with up to 1000 MHz depending on the CPU Model.

Intel Kaby Lake Refresh:
i5-8250U: Kaby-Lake-Refresh based low power quad-core processor. The four cores are clocked between 1.6 and 3.4 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading. The integrated GPU is clocked between 300 and 1,100 MHz. The SoC is manufactured in a 14nm+ FinFET process.
Intel Amber Lake:
m3-8100Y: Extremely efficient ULV-SoC (System-on-a-Chip) for tablets and fanless notebooks based on the Amber Lake architecture which is basically a Kaby Lake chip produced in the improved 14nm+ process (no 14nm++) with higher clock speeds and 5 Watt TDP. Includes two CPU cores clocked at 1.1-3.4 GHz with Hyper Threading support as well as a graphics adapter.
AMD Renoir (Ryzen 4000 APU):
R5 4500U: An upper mid-range, hexa-core APU designed for use in thinner, lighter laptops. The Ryzen features Zen 2 CPU cores running at 2.3 GHz to 4.0 GHz along with the Vega 6 graphics adapter (6 x 64 = 384 unified shaders). The thread-doubling SMT technology is not enabled in the case of Ryzen 5 4500U.
R7 4700U: A mobile Octa-Core APU with Zen 2 cores clocked at 2 to 4.1 GHz and a Vega graphics adapter with 7 CUs clocked at up to 1600 MHz. Compared to the faster 4800U, the 4700U offers a slightly lower boost clock speed and does not support SMT.
R3 4300U: Mobile Quad-Core APU using four Zen 2 cores clocked at 2.7 to 3.7 GHz and a Vega graphics adapter with 5 CUs clocked at up to 1400 MHz. The CPU does not support SMT / Hyperthreading.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

88.7%: This is an above-average rating. Nevertheless, it should not be forgotten that about one fifth of all tested models receive a better rating.
