Kaveri for business. A price of approximately 900 Euros (~$1166) should make HP's newest 14-inch business laptop appealing. The company ships a slim, elegant casing fused with multiple business features and good input devices for this price. The laptop is powered by a new Kaveri APU from AMD. Unfortunately, the screen is again one of the biggest shortcomings, like in many other laptops.

Positive: Decent autonomy; exemplary performance; good touchpad and keyboard; monolithic and durable look; fairly loud and clear speakers. Negative: Low contrast and brightness, viewing angles are unstable, "lame" color reproduction.

Unlike the jump from the EliteBook 830 G5 to the 830 G6, the 830 G7 brings significant visual updates including reduced bezels for a sleeker and more portable look.

The rugged yet light 830 G7 is available with a variety of touch and non-touch full HD displays, has Intel quad core CPUs, 2 DDR4 RAM slots, an M.2 NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 6 and optional 4G LTE. Ports are plentiful given the thin 18mm chassis, with 2 Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C Ports, 2 USB-A, HDMI and 3.5mm audio. It’s a nice counterpoint to the not much smaller Dell XPS 13 that lacks upgradable components and legacy ports.

Rarely do I review a laptop with as few shortcomings as the EliteBook 830 G7 and EliteBook 840 G7, and yet, I'm not entirely sold. Yes, these systems nail the basics, but they fail to stand out in any way. While they offer a sleek design, a good 1080p display, fast performance and decent battery life, the EliteBook 830 and 840 G7 don't do anything to separate themselves from the competition.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
