Google Home gets support for Netflix and Google Photos
Not long after introducing "Actions on Google" for third-party voice support through Google Assistant, Google adds Netflix and Google Photos support to Google Home. Even more, new YouTube Red subscribers get a free 6-month trial with their Google Home purchases by the end of 2016.
Google Home has just been updated. According to Google, support for both Netflix and Google Photos is now finally official.
Netflix linking in the Google Home app will soon be available for both iOS and Android by the end of the week. Google Photos can be linked to the Google Assistant as well, so now it is very easy to share photos from the Chromecast-connected TV by using voice commands. Even more, it looks like Google Home can show Santa's latest whereabouts as he is tracked by Google Maps. The voice command for this is "Ok Google, where’s Santa right now?"
Those who buy a Google Home before the end of the year get six months free of YouTube Red, but the offer only applies to new subscribers only. The Google Home speaker can be acquired for $129 USD directly from Google.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
