Google Gemini adds 14 connected apps, and 10 of them are US only

Google started rolling out a new batch of connected apps for Gemini on Wednesday. The 14 additions range from the database tool Airtable to Adobe and the fitness company Peloton. Gemini can use them to get things done inside those apps, for example to touch up a photo in Photoshop, build a workout plan or check a credit score with Experian. You can connect them in Gemini's settings or bring them into a chat with an @ mention.

Where you live decides how many of them you get. Google keeps a table with the requirements for every connected app, and 10 of the new ones are marked "Location: US only." Zoho is limited to India. That leaves Adobe, monday.com and Wispr AI for everyone else. Users in Germany have seen this before, since the Gemini app for Windows also launched there without Google's Spark agent.

Three apps, all English only

For these three, Google lists every country where both Gemini and the service itself are supported. All 14 apps share another restriction, though. According to the table, they work only in English and only for users who are 18 or older. Adobe and Wispr AI also require a personal Google Account, while monday.com accepts personal, work and school accounts.

Adobe says its integration brings Photoshop, Lightroom, Express and Firefly into Gemini. It began rolling out worldwide on Thursday across all Gemini plans, and you need an Adobe account, which you can create for free. Through monday.com, Gemini can track projects, sales pipelines and leads. Wispr AI lets it search and summarize recorded meetings and personal notes. Google is releasing the apps gradually, so not everyone will see them right away.

Disconnecting an app deletes nothing

One requirement is easy to miss. "When Keep Activity is off, Connected Apps won't be available on gemini.google.com, iOS devices, or smart watches," Google writes. On Android, only Device assistance, Phone, Messages and WhatsApp keep working with the setting off. Anything Gemini pulls from Adobe or monday.com is therefore saved to your Gemini Apps Activity. Google says it uses that information to improve Gemini, and human reviewers look at some of it. Notebookcheck has already reported how long reviewed chats are kept.

That becomes important once you want to clean up. "Disconnecting an app or deleting data in a connected app doesn't delete any data from Gemini Apps Activity," according to Google's privacy hub. The reverse is also true. Apps keep whatever Gemini has shared with them under their own policies, even after you clear your Gemini history. You can disconnect each app individually under Connected Apps in Gemini's settings. To remove everything, you also have to delete the matching entries in your Gemini Apps Activity and with the app provider.
